SO what would your opinion be about running a race ecm or a remaped from Al with a spec ops pipe? How much is the remapped? ( couldnt find it ) Thanks |

If the spec ops is all you have modded then you dont need to do anything, it will be fine with the stock tune. I have a spec ops pipe and I drilled a bunch of holes in my intake box and am still running a stock tune, bike runs great, noticeable power diff over stock, no probs at all. |

Aj, have you pulled your plugs to see if it is running lean? I just sent my 9 pipe to Odie. I am going to try it with the Stock ECM for little while then check the plugs. I don't want to cause any problems by running too lean. |

i have one of odies pipes and also drilled a 12 box. I ran a little rich actually for a while. Changed plugs once and then bought a race ecm. Tho i cant tell you if it runs better or not yet cause i am taking it to Southside HD in Indiana this week to get the tps reset. Ill let you know after that how it runs. |

run the stock ECM. you will have no problems. i have had the special O.P.S. pipe on my bike for almost 30k miles with a gutted air box, no problems. i just had my whole motor apart this winter. and there were absolutely no signs of the motor running lean. the stock ECM will correct it self. brian |

hi....................I run the XB9 race ECM with the maps of the XB12 race ECM on my modified XB12R. I had this ECM reprogrammed with the ususal Direktlink software. I use a shift light and change gears frequently above 7300 RPM Revlimiter is fix at 7500. By the way, the original XB12 Maps have data up to 8000 RPM. And before anybody who thinks he would have to educate me on.........you should not run the XB12 engine like that...........forget it........that engine takes this well as long as you do not run it for 2 hours on a highway at these revs.........than the crank will give up indeed.........but this is also common knowledge. One chap in Switzerland has had a similar setup for 35.000 Miles without problems either. The stock ECM is crap and limits the amount of fun you have.........so go and do something sensible..........but please do yourself a favor and do not use the TFI........that really is a waste of money. tiger |

I believe the 12 SPec Ops pipe is fine with a Stock ECM as it retains the exhaust valve. Has anyone run the Spec Ops w/Stock ECM on a 9 for extended mileage? |

i see you have a 9. my 12 with specops pipe, open airbox, and remap from Al runs very well. just did the tps reset today and the thing runs perfect. sounds good too. about 350$ for the remap. |
