So I just installed my new tires (Pilot Power 2CT) and windscreen (Zero Gravity +3" amber) and let me tell you, these things are awesome!!!

Gone are the days of the stock 208 tires! The Michelins grip WAY better! I decided to take them out for a "test ride" since it decided not to rain (despite the 70% chance weather.com predicted and ominous clouds and winds all day). I got dressed in my full leathers, new gloves, work boots, thinking I'm going to take it easy, not push it too far, considering I'm still getting used to the new tires. Plus it's only about 45 out. While I was riding I kept finding my speedo rising over triple digits (don't normally look at it too much), but it didn't feel like it used to. I attribute that to the new windscreen which totally rocks as well! It must do wonders to the airflow because I used to feel a little too much air at speeds over 85, but wasn't really feeling them at all today. Maybe it was the adrenaline, I don't know. After a while I also noticed something else I haven't experienced in a while. I killed bugs with my visor for the first time in months! This must mean warmer weather is coming! Anyway, after my spirited ride I park my bike in my garage and give the new tires a once over. Then have to look again. My front has almost an inch of chicken strips on each side and my rear has none! I didn't think I was pushing it that far! I guess these new tires feel so sure footed that I am able to lean further than I previously have been able to without really feeling it! On the flipside, I wasn't really leaning off my seat since I was trying to "take it easy".

One thing's for sure, I can definitely vouch for Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires, especially at the price I found them at. They're not a sponsor but www.motoxoutlet.com had the best prices I could find online, even beating eBay auctions. I can also vouch for the Zero Gravity windscreen from American Sport Bike, the color matching is perfect and the extra wind protection is awesome! I will post pictures so you all can see the end result. The difference in look of the +3" windscreen kinda reminds me of a mohawk. It's odd, but cool.

Anyway, I apologize for being long winded but I felt like sharing. Hope y'all enjoy!

So the amber of the screen matched the valencia orange? I was wanting to see that in real before I make the purchase. Got any pics of the final mod? If you are ever down Silverdale way, come see us for our rides and the twisties we have out our way.

I'll definitely be there soon! The windscreen matches the old one perfectly, and if I had to say there was a difference in the windscreen and the airbox, I'd say the airbox is just a hint darker tint. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Can't wait to see pics. Been thinkin' bout a Valencia airbox cover myself but wasn't sure how it would go with the amber.

Hey Sam,
I feel your excitement brother! I put a set of Pilot Power 2CT's on my '06 Ss last week and I can't believe the seat of the pants difference. Amazing grip! Everyone was right, those stock D208's are garbage. You just don't realize how much until you have something better. I also took advantage of the fair weather as I rode on Saturday and after work Monday and Tuesday. I'm located in Bonney Lake, Wa so I feel your wet winter pains. I just can't wait to see how these tires do when it's 70-80 degrees outside!

I'll agree with you on the Michelins - excellent choice!

I've been pushing the pilots for a while now and have only converted two people here. I understand people are hesitant to change but these are by far the best damn tire out there. Glad to hear more people are figuring out how well they compliment the handling characteristics of our bikes

Ok without further ado, here's the pics! Cityxslicker by the way I'm headed down your way this afternoon. Look for me!

Like I said before, the airbox may be just a tad darker, but that may also be due to fact that the windscreen has open air on both sides of it.
