Okaaaay.... so I just got off the phone with Mountain Creek H-D parts department in Dalton, checking on some front brake pads. I got the part number from my catalog and read it off to him. $62! For a set of 2??? That can't possibly be right, can it? I double checked, and I gave him the right part number. Hell, I put brakes all the way around my car for less than that! What gives??? ~SM |

Check with J&P Cycles or someone like that. I put new pads on my Harley a few months ago for like $45, that was front & rear! You sure that wasn't an installed price? (Message edited by terribletim on March 07, 2007) |

The price shocked me too first time I changed 'em. You might wanna try aftermarket. The front EBC Pads are part number FA345HH and run around $45. The rears are FA140 and FA140HH. |

I use EBC HH sintered. MUCH better than stock. And probably cheaper too. |

Chainsaw, Where did you buy your EBC brakes from? Having a hard time looking for an online retailer. |

Check your local Badweb Sponsors, like Stone Mountain H-D & Buell. You'd be surprised that we actually carry parts for your Buell. Or you can buy online from a warehouse and save all of $5. Smokescreen |

Yeah, the EBC and Lindell are much better than stock. I think the Lindell are better for the track due to "feel", but both stop really well. |

Contact sponsors. EBC HH, Lyndall, Nissin should only set you back -$45ish |

Got mine from a local Denver cycle shop. They had the rears in stock, haven't tried them for the fronts yet. |

Hey that doesn't sound too bad compared to the Nissin 804 Race Pads I bought...for $80! (Message edited by dtx on March 07, 2007) |

Off topic, but is anyone noticing accelerated rotor wear with sintered pads? It was my understanding that these tend to wear the rotor much faster. |

Wow, these ALL sound expensive to me! Why do motorcycle pads cost so much? A single set of lifetime warranty pads for a car only costs $20! And they're bigger! ~SM |

Swordsman, a comedian once thought he'd get into manufacturing women's clothing - hardly any investment in material and really high selling prices. (I hear you) |

That's about right for OEM Nissins from an H-D dealer. I've used EBC345HH's for 7500 mi no problems. Still using the OEM rear pads lol. |

Swordsman - Supply & Demand. The number of car pads sold offsets the cost difference. Why do you think the Harley riders say "H-D stands for Hundred-Dollars"! Put that logo on it, the cost goes up. |
