Like many Buelligans, I was beginning to tire of my amber wheels, and the fact that the coating was chipping off didn’t help much either. In addition, the Hals competition swing arm, which was raw aluminum, looked like it needed a little love too. Enter brother Pete Alesso, (XBCRAZY), who is an excellent powder coater. After an exhaustive search, he was able to exactly match the Buell Graphite black frame color. After doing a great job on the swing arm, he suggested that instead of doing the wheels with black centers and polished lips,as we had originally planned, that he make the centers graphite black instead of black. I think it was a pretty cool idea. Pete’s web site is: www.grandstanddesigns.com |

Damn Jon, I can't wait to see Lil Blackie in the Spring. She's a real looker. Bet she'll ride nice too. Excellent idea, never thought of matching rims with frame, makes perfect sense! |

I'd like to get my Ulysses wheels powder coated black. I recently picked up a set of XBR wheels in black. They look sweet!! |

mmmm I would love the set of heavier ULY wheels for my CityX , of course they would have to be Black. DAmn silver would just mess up the colors of the bike, New dash coming, and a pasta strainer fix in the works |

Hey Jon- Rims look Great!!! Well actually...you're bike looks Great!! I Want a set, too! I've been contemplating a set of Black rims for my Lightning....but those would look sooo much better. I painted my frame rails and passenger brackets with Buell Graphite Grey. I think that my bike would look better with that paint scheme on the rims!! |

OK, that is going to push me into doing the same thing on my 'Bolt. The amber wheels are not my favorite part of the bike. I have been down this road before with the Z1000 http://www.sportbikes.net/forums/showthread.php?t= 326160 What is it they say about the sincerest form of flattery ?? I just had mine powdercoated, too. Centers gloss black, polished lips. Just waiting for all of the hardware from Andy. Looks great BTW. Gentleman_Jon, thanks for the pic. Gives me a really good idea of what mine will look like. (tail conversion and all.) Rich |
