I just bought a brand new Race Kit on Ebay and would like to know about the installation. Is there anything that requires a technician or do I just simply bolt the stuff on and call it good? The Buell web site says something about a throttle sensor adjustment that is necessary when installing the Race ECM. |

Do it all yourself, including ECM then take it to the Dealership and have them Reset the TPS. Should be about 30 ish bucks. Money well spent. Yeah, you can do it all yourself. |

TPS reset. You can do this yourself if you buy the Technorearch software/cable to hook to your PC to get it done. Or if you know someone who has the software/cable. This can be found on Badweb somewhere, list of folks willing to help others. Depending on how technically inclined you are. The muffler install requires a good bit of work, and tools. I put everything on except the ECM, rode to the dealership, installed it in their parking lot, and wheeled it inside for the TPS reset. Took a 70 mile ride home on the highway to reset the ECM to my bike, and that was about it. Easy as pie. |

I fourth that advice - some bikes will run with Race ECM (but not necessarily well) to limp to the dealer if they are close, many will not run at all (including mine). I bought the software and did the reset myself though. You can ride on the old ecm to the dealer and change to the race ecm in the parking lot - its just a quick plug in (as mentioned above) and have them reset it. |
