I was looking at a 2004 XB12S at a local dealer today. It has about 12k miles, some carbon fiber body parts and the race kit. The chin faring and passenger peg brackets are missing, but it otherwise appears to be in grate shape. It has an extended war good till march of 2008. What would be a good price for me to pay on this bike? I have made my mind up that I will be buying a used Buell b/4 the spring gets here. I live in East Tennessee in close proximity to Deal’s Gap, and I think a Buell would be perfect for the mountain riding that I do. |

I paid $6500 for my 2004 12S in 2005. It had 4000 miles on it and was in near mint condition. Use that as a guide if you will. I love the bike and have rode The Dragon with it. I was there last fall and had a great time. |

FWIW, I paid $7,100 for an 04 XBS, stock except for frame pucks and Pirelli sport sync tires in September, 2006 with about 3000 miles in perfect condition except for a little paint worn off the passenger peg brackets (presumably from carrying luggage or something). It was at American Harley Davidson in North Tonawanda New York. The price was a little high because I was seeing comparable private sale bikes for around $6500. In fact one was on this board and he sold it on ebay for about that. For me it was worth it to buy from a dealer and all the security that goes with it in terms of good title, no liens and assurance as to condition, plus it was close enough to home that I could see the bike and not pay $500 or so for shipping. |

Thamks for the info guys. I pass the dealer on way home from work every day, so I'll go in see if they are willing to deal. |

MCN lists an '04 XB12S at $6365.00 at the national average price... They list condition as: "Full retail value of a stock motorcycle... a reconditioned or clean, undamaged and well-maintained vehicle ready to be sold by a dealer or between individuals." With that said, I agree with everyone... it's too high a price. Many of us have bought an '04 for less... myself included. There are deals out there and I'm sure someone here can point you in the right direction.... Or you can make them an offer closer to the real value. |

I bought my 04XB12S last Spring with 2400 miles on it, mint condition, only upgrade was the Buell pro race kit (filter, ECM, and pipe) paid $6400.00. The Dealer is a Stealership! Look around some more |

NADA.COM lists low retail and high retail averges by region. Low retail is like high wholesale trade to a dealer. High retail is a really good clean bike that someone wants. |

I bought a new (old stock) 2005 XB12s here in Houston for $7200.00 with a full custom "voltage" paint set incl heel rests and rear tail piece. Keep looking, there are good deals to be had if you are diligent. Kevin |

Mackey, I was there on Saturday, that bike is 8k, not 7. Leftover 04 with 40 miles. I was thinking of offering them 7, but that may be too high. |

Bought an 04 12s in April 06 with 3200 miles. Perfect bike with pipe, filter, and direct link. Bike was new in Nov 05. Plenty of warranty left. Paid $6,400 from Tampa dealer. |

Blue book on a 04 12S is around 6-7k isent it? plus you would have the extended warranty so the price really is not that high. |

It has been my experience that most vehicles "sell" for less then book value. I wanted to find out what people here had paid for their bikes and determine the value that way rather then rely on a book. The book is written by professional sellers who have an interest in justifying an inflated price. Thanks for all of the posts. They were a help to me. |
