I am shopping for a stand alone tailbag for my SS and just want to check that I am right in my conclusion that the Buell tailbag (small one) does not work for the SS, and the Buell 'trunk bag' does not work without the saddlebags? |

It will work, you just have to fab up some quick click connectors. REI or any outdoor store has them, run them through the reflectors off the rear and they work great. For more capacity you might want to try the H&B sport Track Trunk, (tons of room) |

Hey Matt, I run the Buell tailbag (the small one) on my '06 Ss. It fits just fine and works perfect. I didn't have to modify anything. Just the right amount of room for a wallet, cell phone, ball cap, and extra neck gater with extra room as it opens up an extra 2". The best part is that it's small and discrete and looks good on the bike, not big and obtrusive. Plus it has reflective piping for nightime visibility. Hope that helps, Bo Sox |

Excellent, thanks guys, that's exactly what I want it for - a clean look and just a little storage - a bottle of water, cap, extra shirt, etc. I've been using a net and rolling my stuff up in the shirt, but my riding buddies are getting tired of dodging my bottle of water when it inevitably shakes loose!! |
