These four inch Soltek Fuego lights were developed for the Baja races. They come with 100 watt halogens, or HID. At $200 per pair for the halogens, they look like a good light at a fair price. Anyone tried them yet? |

On order for the next pay check, and Danno is putting them up on his ULY, probably before me. These are the lights that should have come on the bikes. |

They look fantastic on Tread's Uly. Me likey, mucho! Anybody got photos of a Lightning install? Or do I have to figure it out for myself, (again)? I think I would go with Chrome cases and black rims or most likely, black cases with black rims, or maybe chrome rims. Decisions, decisions. |

Can you dig it! Bolts right up (sorta) on a Uly. I'm not sure what the other XB cowls are like on the inside, but with a couple shots of cabo wabo and a power drill, I'm sure it will fit!

Terry Would you measure the width of your lights. I'm not so sure that they will fit an XB. |

Isham - No Firebolt size, if you mean something that will bolt right in. The company that makes them is : Baja Designs |

Looks great on a Uly. I think they were made for that bike. I wish Erick could see this. Treadmark, your bike looks amazing. Great work! |

Donl, O.D. on each light is 5". 10" bolted together with no gap between them. Guys, These are metal bodied racelights designed to use the H1 bulbs available in 55/80/100/130 watts. They have a glass lense and can be had with black rings as well as the red rings I have, according to baja designs. These lights are made by SolTek for Baja Designs. I got mine at 90 bucks each from dunebuggy.com, which ships from baja designs. They come with really trick one bolt polished stainless base mounts that I did not use. The housings are flat on the back and have several flat tab areas that can be used for alternate mounting points. They are also shipped with an awesome water/dust proof electrical connector that is design to be spliced into your wiring harness. |

Wow...those lights look REALLY trick! Remind me a bit of the SJP Engineering lights that the cat's at Exile Cycles use.

Thanks for the kudos guys. I love this bike more everyday. Steve, The lights come with crimp on plugs that connect to your factory harness. I elected to solder mine. Really nice connectors too. I wired the right side (on the bike) to my low and used a 55w bulb and driving reflector. I wired the left side to a spot reflector with a 100w bulb. Call Diego at Baja, he will provide you with the black reflectors at no cost. FYI, They have lexan transparent shields for 19.95, and replacement lense/reflector assemblies are 24.95 ea. Hope this helps. |

Why do HID cost 4x halogen? I know what they are, but $400 per light? |

Thanks Terry, I`ll have to go out and measure to see if they will fit under the XB`s headlight cowl. I`ve been looking for something with more power . The HIDs are too expensive. I wonder if it would be possible to replace the bulbs later with another aftermarket HID. |

On HID you have to run a ballast. Its just more stuff,,, more power. Nice find |

I made a mock up using the dimensions Terry gave. The front of the XB is a little different than the ULY. I think I could make them work, but it would take some engineering. |

treadmarks - I'm assuming that if they're 'made for racing' theres no DOT stamp on them, or any way for them to pass even a basic visual inspection? |

Ulendo-No need to assume, as you're absolutely correct. There is no DOT certification on these lights, and they probably will not pass a basic visual inspection. I strongly recommend that no one install these light on a motorcycle intended to be operated on public streets, highways or residential neighborhoods. But they sure are bright! See the light. |
