Does anybody have any pics of the fairing that Hal's offers? I have only seen the pic on their website, but I am hoping someone has one on their bike. |

I own the bike Tim (No_Rice) was talking about. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask!

I have had this for a year or so - I go back and forth deciding whether I like it or not. I have a wrapped micron and its a bummer not see the motor -

Beautiful - IMHO - that's the way they should come from the factory. Heck you could even hide a radiator under there somewhere... |

I'm disgusted with myself. I've had my body kit sitting in a box for almost 9 months now. I really need to hurry up and get off my butt and get it prepped, painted and mounted. |

I'm confused or better have mixed feelings about the full fairing. I guess its nice to be a different buell but now ur kinda like a jap bike ya know. quick question does the bike heat up more with the fairing on since less air is moving thru the engine? oh and what's the cost? just curious. |

I've never had a problem with heat. I did wrap my exhaust, but that's not an uncommon thing to do. I bought mine with the fairing installed, is you check Halspa.com they list the fairing and mount kits. I actually get a lot of questions about what kind of bike it is. I have never been asked if it was japanese, but I have been asked if it is the new Ducati several times, (and that was before the 1098 was released!) |

I don't really care if it looks like a "jap" bike, most of those bikes look good - part of the reason modern sportbikes are so cool is their look. I don't need notoriety. I just want stuff thats cool and that works. That being said, I do like to see the big aircooled v with the wrap all out in the open. I think mine does run hotter and the pipe is wrapped. Managing that heat is an issue, as I had to build my own mounts to keep the fibreglass far enough off the pipe to prevent it from overheating the paint. I lined the entire inside of the fairing with DEI heat reflective matting, so it is saving the fairings, but reflecting it back into the motor. At speed I am relying on airflow to keep things cool, but it has got to be hotter than stock at stoplights, as even a light breeze is not making it to the heads . . . I am not using the fairings right now, but holding on to them in case I get motivated to put them on again and re-approach the cooling issue. |
