Hi Ron, Your bike sure looks smart. I'm running a 240 myself over here in the UK. I got about 1/4" wheel offset to the left and 1/2" front sprocket offset to the right. handles ok and i like the looks. had to raise the forks a bit to get the rake be to a more relaxed angle as the 240 tyre is taller than the original. what size rear tire are you using? is it a 240/40/18? with the wheel offset, does it feel any different when you ride it? i like that you were able to keep the belt drive, but im unsure about the offset wheel thing. thanks. | ||

Hi Xbob. Yes its a 240/40 18. Riding is a very subjective thing. We all have our preferences on which side we like to crank over onto anyway. For me i cannot tell the difference on left or ride side. It does feel a little like its backing into the corner on both sides as you crank it over - It might have something to do with the centreline of the bike in relation to the contact patch of the tyre to the road or It may just be in my brain. Either way i'm kinda used to it now. and it hasn't affected me thrashing the pants of a standard XB12R which leans further - quicker! hope this helps..Jonah | ||

Jonah, with the wheel being offset by about 1/4" to the left, the front and rear wheels are 1/4" off from being in-line with each other, right? with the offset, does it feel different turning one way verses the turning the other way? also, did you have to modify anything else to use the 240? anything done to the swingarm? got anymore pics? maybe one from the rear of the bike. thanks. jonah looks awesome i love the look of a 240, i think it is the perfect fit for the bike(i dont like the 330) i love the way mine handles also, i ride it the same as i did stock did you shim your footpeg hanger for clearance? with a chain you do not have to mod the swingarm, offset the wheel or shim the peg hanger, so it(peg hanger) stays flush with the frame later, ron | ||

Thanks Ron, Yes the right hand peg and hanger is shimmed 1/2" to the right. 99.9% of people dont even notice (They're too busy picking their chins up off the floor while staring at the back wheel --and my paint job) I loved the way the stock bike handled and i also love the way this does as well. XBob: You would think it would be noticeable but 1/4" or 6.5mm doesn't make any difference to me. I'm sure Colin Edwards or Valantino Rossi would notice though!!!  Swingarm is 100% stock but you have to mod or remove stock hugger and front plastic belt guard. You can keep the rear lower guard but i took mine off anyway, I'll risk the odd stone chip for that clean look. I'll stick a bunch off pics on this forum this evening. This post is to the guys running the 240 tires. Can you tell me how to do that setup? I've got an '04 Firebolt. Where can I buy the rim? I'm going to do the chain conversion so I won't need to offset the wheel. Please give me any info you can. Thanks, Mike | ||

thanks for the link ron. those pics say alot for what can be done with a buell. alot of people wont like whats been done to that bike, because " its not what the buell was designed for" or it isnt "what buell wanted done with their bikes". but i think it shows that buells can be customized as well as any other bike. | ||

Uaw Jesse. Its a carbon fiber piece from a uk company Adrenalin moto. see link. But the part is made by imberger in germany. http://www.britnett-carver.co.uk/trojanhorse/ Its a little shorter than stock and aLOT lighter Hope this helps jonah | ||

Buell_bro. The rear pulley is a stock item polished to within an inch of its life. I'm about to get it chromed tho' all that polished ally in the uk means a lot of hard work. Our local government still use salt to clear icy roads. | ||
