This is the one I'm talking about My questions are: How's the color matching (amber)? Where does the air hit you? Does this windscreen have the same melting effect that the double bubble windscreen does? All these questions could probably be answered by a PM to Al but I thought I'd get these questions out in the open in case anyone else had the same questions. I'm also kinda curious how it looks on the bike in a full picture, not just like this: Al I hope you don't mind that I linked to your pic on your site. Thanks everyone, Sam |

yes I have it and love it for cold weather riding. to answer some of your questions... How's the color matching (amber)? I have the smoke one, can't answer this. Where does the air hit you? not in the chest like the stock one. major difference. Does this windscreen have the same melting effect that the double bubble windscreen does? I have not seen any incidences with melting of the gages with the +3". they all come from the double bubble. the +3" is shaped differently than the DB and more like the stock one. I have the pictures of mine in my other computer. I'll post later if someone doesn't do it before I get back. |

It looks like the touring windscreen they sold before, if it is I have one.The wind blast moves up to the helmet area, wish I could get something higher yet for touring. I have the smoke one also, no melting effect, just on the double bubbles. |

I love mine and am glad I got it. Fits perfect and is every bit as good quality as the OEM screen. Mine is smoke. Gives much better wind protection. My answers to your question is pretty much the same as Damnut. http://www.geocities.com/rogue_biker/PR1/Bolt.jpg |

I have been looking at the same. I think I will try it. Not sure which color to get yet. |

If you are going to get the smoke color the darker one is much better looking. Of course, the lighter one is easier to see through. I just put a dark smoke double bubble on my 12R yesterday and it looks awesome. We have about 4-6 inches of snow on the ground from last night though, so I have no idea what it does to the wind. |

the one thing for me was I HAD to get used to the look of the taller windscreen. I hated it at first and it had to grow on me. For me, it still doesn't look that good but for functionality........... it's the best. I'm probably going back to the stock one for summer. side view.......

Hey James even if we didn't have the snow you wouldn't know what it feels like in the wind!! Hahaha |

That side profile view kinda makes the bike look like it has a mohawk or something! I agree that it'd take time getting used to, but I am looking at functionality here. Thanks for the pics/info guys, keep it coming! I hope someone has an amber one they can post a picture of... Sam |

Here's the amber screen and it's a very good match to the OEM color. I'm 5'9" and it moves the air flow to the top of my visor, and I also have the Heli top clamp which raise me up a little compared to the stock handle bar locations.

everytime I look at mine from the front it reminds me of the top of the head of the creature from the Alien movie |

I used to use the double bubble on my racebike (pic on my profile) after Terry at Hal's let me sit on one of their racebikes with the Sport Touring screen, I started using it instead of the double bubble. I figure if it was good enough for Hal's Racing, that was good enough for me. If I still had an XB streetbike, I'd certainly use it there too. Much less tiring and still MUCH MORE streamlined than your body. Betting you get better airflow than the double bubble and certainly better than the stock profile. Many people like the look of the double bubble but I think the wind is more manageable with the Sport touring. (Message edited by slaughter on January 22, 2007) |

Loren, Thanks for the pic, now the only problem is I have yet another thing to order. That looks like it'll match my translucid airbox perfectly. One question though, what's that mounted underneath your fairing? Also, your headlight looks familiar, is it HID by chance? Sam |

Sam, The head lights are stock and the object under the fairing is a Blinder lidar jamming unit. www.blinder.us (Message edited by gowindward on January 22, 2007) |
