hey guys, my buddy has a massive melon & needs a helmet retailer or secondhand one. here's the deal: 24 1/2" circumference around temples rides harley wants old-style (60's 70's) openface, retro racer 3/4 style helmet. he hasn't been able to find anything suitable online so far & since there has to be a few *big heads* on here, i am wondering if you can help a brother out! he's a real nice guy, so it'd make him real happy if anyone can help! thanks guys, paul |

My friend finally got back to me. In his experience, the only two manufacturers that make "Plus sized" helmets are Arai and HJC. Check out their websites, and good luck! |

Davida sound like they're right up your mates street. I have no desire for an open face lid these days, but Davida always catch my eye at the shows. Quality product. AGV I believe do a very large shell too. Rocket |

Remember, its not just size, but shape. I have an 8 1/8 (not sure what that is in cm's), but the only helmet I found ANYWHERE that fit right was a Shoei XXL, more because of its shape then anything else. Every other one I tried on was a XXL, but mashed my forehead and back of my head, but the Sheoi fits like a glove!! Bruce |

Has he gone into a motorcycle gear shop and tried any on? It would be helpful to know what brands/sizes he has tried on. I've got a big head but I'm not sure what the circumference is. I used to wear an Arai full face XXL. I've since switched to a Scorpion full face XXL (Scorpion also sells 3/4 helmets). http://www.scorpionusa.com |
