not sure yet, Fravel. bike is off the road for the winter i'll be testing next season but i think its a great idea, makes sense to me. hoping it helps to save wear on the belt + bearings. |

Who makes that belt tensioner anyway? By the way, your bike looks awesome. |

re: rear pulley, just fired up the Dremel with a fine sanding tip so i guess its not 'polished' per se. worked it around slow then hit it with one of those fine sanding pads to even out the finish. i dont like shine so its more brushed looking than polished. i wouldn't recommend that process for the whole pulley though properly stripping the paint then polishing it would prob be better but what i nightmare with the teeth for the belt. Misato may have polished his though, same with Pwnzr. i would PM them. again, thnx for the props guys! gritting my teeth waiting for the last batch of goodies from Trojan to arrive. |

Typeone - you & RonLV are my modification inspirations! Bike looks great. How are you gonna do the fatbar install? I've bought the bar, now trying to decide between the mount/clamp options. Really wish we had somebody USA-based with some of the cool Euro parts in stock... I haven't had very good luck with response time from Euro/UK parts folks. Thanks for the tip on the rear pulley... bare metal rim looks good... that's why I decided to stick with the belt versus chain. And where'd you get that gas mask? Sure it's fluff, but fits the Lightning so well in streetfighter mode! (Seriously, where'd you find it?) How'd you do the black flyscreen/clocks magnesium mount pieces? Anodized? Painted? What about pre work? Mark Oregon |

thnx, Mark. answers below.. . - i picked up the Rizoma 29mm 'conical' bar and Rizoma oversized clamp together. looked into other dirt fatbars + clamps but the Rizoma unit is so sexxy i decided to give the bars a try too. hoping i like the pull-back because my Azonics have very little. but regarding the clamp, i'm not sure it will fit just any 1.125" (~28.6mm) oversized bar though. youd have to write them. they actually did respond to some questions of mine. i used their site. ordered through Trojan though. - the pulley idea came from wanting the Rizoma rear pulley (so freekin' cool) but not being able to afford it in this mod round. i've seen it done to the stock part on various rides too. RRC likes to highlight the edge as well but they do a cool thing where its got a dot in line with the outter tooth. hard to explain but looks sweet.. - gas mask idea came from a Duc i saw last winter in NYC. i think the girls name was Michelle. bike looked sweet with the mask on it, total fighter attitude. so this fall i started looking for masks then ran into Angry Guy Streetfighters who sell a universal kit. odd thing was, they used the same Avon S10. i had a bunch of links to masks i liked but figured i'd try the S10 first. it was one of my choices anyway due to sizing/style of the parts. i knew the eyelets could be modded pretty easily for the XB's big bug eyes. soooo, after i ordered a new, unissued mask from a guy in the UK who sells military stufffs, i started cutting/trimming/guessing/etc. and voila! - black flyscreen mounts are from a CityX. already powdered and ready to go thnx, DaveS! Thanks for the response & info. Gotta love the fighter look! That's my direction, too... finally gave up trying to make the XB into a crotch rocket (something it'll never be); now dipping toe into EuroFighter pool of cool. Those Rizoma 29mm bars and clamp are nice. Would like to use the Rizoma clamp... guess Trojan's my only option. Picked up a Rizoma mirror... VERY nicely machined piece. Totally useless as mirror, though! Yeah, I've got a few streetfighter bike pics with gas masks, and one bike using an old footbal helmet with projector headlights poking out as "eyes". With your permission, I might pursue the gas mask idea for West Coast Fighter representation. The black XBS front end looks great. Will look into powder coating my front mounts along with RRC tail.
