Woodcraft 54mm clipons would fit. They have a 2 piece clamp so you don't have to remove your top tree. However, you will have to fabricate some type of extender for the dash mounting in order to clear them. This shouldn't be too hard to do. Otherwise, if you wanted a Firebolt style bar without going with a true clipon, Crossroads performance makes a good one. It would be an easier bolt on. |

You can also get an "Ace" or "Clubman" style bar. It's a standard bar that uses your stock handlebar clamp, but they bend down and forward and put the grips in the same place as a clip on. Because of the bend, they will clear your dash without modification. Check out Bella Corse for them. Let me see if I can get a link going... http://www.bellacorse.com/bcc039.htm I know these are 1" bars and you'd need 7/8". I've seen them on eBay, and I have seen a set on an XB12S as well. While it is true that one might fit "Ace" or " Clubman's" bars to a Lightning, they will not fit as shown in Xl 1200r's illustration, because the forks on the Buell are much wider than the Triumph's illustrated. The can be mounted, but at the very least, they require some form of risers. Here is a set of Tomasselli adjustable Clubmans preliminarily fitted to my bike with a simple riser system made from two handlebar clamps. Note that the cable runs interfere with the front screen. I am currently having proper set of risers fabricated, and will post them in the next couple of weeks.
Bottom Line: don't plan on just buying any old set of clubman's bars and sticking them on your Lightning. Properly fitted, they can be a very worthwhile addition.
