Does anyone know how to install these? I have removed mine from my CityX after I took off the hand guards. I'm now trying to install the standard bar ends that come on the firebolts & non-cityx lightnings. I can't even get these things started, let alone all the way in. If anyone has an idea on how this is done (do I need to heat the plastic so that it forms to the dimension of the bars?), I'd be extremely happy. Thanks, Joe |

I can't help you get them in, but can anyone help me on getting them out? Do they just pull out? |

Tap in with rubber mallet, yes they pull out. |

I just did this today - I think mine were for the CityX, although, I didn't know that they had different ones. I could not get mine on, even with the mallet, without potentially bending/smashing the end where the handguard snaps in. I took it over to my grinding wheel, and ground it down along the taper a bit, and it went in a bit easier with a little tap of the mallet. |

Bombero - I have also tried the rubber mallet method, I even stepped it up to the hard plastic version with no luck. I'm thinking that I'm going to try a little heat next, since I don't have a grinding wheel handy. Thanks |

i trimmed a little plastic off of the end and they went in just fine with a hammer with tape on the end. but true they were impossible to get in otherwise. |

Try a little KY jelly, always makes it go in easier. Seriously! |

melt the end slightly. looked at the one that came out and it looked to me that the plugs were installed hot |

I have used two different bar ends so far, I have the ones like midknyte installed now. They cost me a whopping 7 dollars. They install with an allen head (Included with them) and look and function flawlessly. Ditch the plastic... |
