One says its a uly swing arm. will that fit the 04 xb. like belt length would have to be changed but is the the swing arm axle diameter the same and how bout the width of the pivot areas and such. i cant believe i dont know how to spell swing arm in the title. crap i feel smart like rocks today, oh well its 1;22 am when i posted this so im blaming it on being tired. Yeah dude, I agree. Can it be done? I don't see why not. You know, I had to look at it a few times to even notice the difference. But, yea.... The second bike is TROJAN's so I would ask. The second bike is SICK!! I don't know who's that is, but it's tits!!! I could be totally wrong here, but looking at the 1st bike, it looks liket the tensioner barely has any TENSION on it! Not like my bike does. Maybe it's the same belt size. I dont' know. No expert here. Later Mark |

The top bike is from Thomas at RRC in Germany. It is a XB12SS with a XB12S subframe and seat. Our bike is a Ulysses chassis, so both the above bikes came fitted with this longer swingarm as standard and are not a later conversion. I don't think that changing would be a huge problem, as I'm pretty sure the mountings haven't changed over the years. You would of course need the longer belt from the SS/X model. |

TommyK made a similar conversion i believe (just sold it too) SS w/standard S subframe. |

Trojan-I've always been meaning to ask if you changed the neck angle on your race bike or just adjust it through rear ride height, or left it all alone save for minor tweaking? |

Hi Ceejay, We kept the Ulysses steering head angle stock, but run a higher rear ride height than a stock XBR. Steering is still incredibly quick (quicker than stock XB) but there is no tendency to weave or twitch. The funny thing about our bike is that people don't realise just how much bigger than an XBR it actually is. It is around 3" longer and at least 2" taller than a Firebolt. It is hard to see unless it is stood next to a stock XBR, but to give some example, Phil Read is 6' 2" tall and yet doesn't look big on the bike. |

That's what has always scared me away from the XB series as I'm 6'2" also. While others say they fit, I always felt wierd sitting in 'em. I know my swingarm conversion that is ongoing for the M2 has given me about a 1 1/2" increase in length and has allowed me a litte more ride height which are a few reasons as to why I did it, and after reading up many of the things you had done I am becoming more interested in the XB series, as it looks awesome and like a hell of a lot of fun... |

I have looked into this myself a bit and found that they changed the mounting points on the '05 and up bikes versus the '04/'03 bikes. I am sure it can be done, but it will not be a direct bolt on option. Keep us posted Shaggy, I know I am interested to see what work has to be done. |
