Got tired of my old mirrors and went to try the cat eye three from local bicycle store for 30.00 total....Got back and looked at the bar ends on the bike and just machined them flat and added the mirror to it, and ended up with what you see...You could file the bar end if you needed too and end up with the same thing..........solid as a rock, no vibration, and crystal clear image in the rear view now................ride on...dave (Message edited by dstrat1 on December 01, 2006) |

Put a little loctite in the threads on those before you lose the female end of the fastener on the freeway. Word to the wise. I use the same mirror, just one on the left. Works great and I won't be heartbroken if it gets snapped off or whatever. I carry a spare under the back seat. |

I think David may have meant that he machined the bar ends flat, not the handlebars. I was confused at first myself, but if you look at the bar end that holds the mirror you will that that it is flat. |

I went through two of those cheap plastic ones until I finally bought a CRG folding one. It's what I wanted all along and worth the money. This thing is solid and looks killer! |

I also use these mirrors on mine too. I love them, and at $12 a pop, I don't worry about them getting broken. |

ThirdEye Mirrors, barend - can be found in most bicycle shops. Will special order if not in stock, can be found online through any general search engine! They also fold, take a lot of abuse, and you don't feel bad if they do break. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

I buy them for ten at the bike store - some stores are 12, but all sell them. I never worry about finding a source for them in SF - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

try number two, used a little tubing notched to accept these third eye mirrors and raised it a little for better visibility...still steady image and way better than original, and easier to see than when mounted right on the end |

More detail for anyone interested. workmanship a little rough but it works well for a 20 dollar investment. (Message edited by dstrat1 on December 08, 2006) |
