I bought a factory race kit for my '03 XB9S from a H-D/Buell dealer on ebay and noticed that the ECM did not have "For Race Only" printed on it. The part number on the box however is correct for a race ECM. Every photo I've seen of the race ECM has this printed on it. Does anyone know if some ECM's were sold without it? |

My 03 XB9S had a race ECM and it did not have "for race only" printed on it. I double checked and the part number was correct for a race ECM. |

Oh since it says "Race only" I'm sure nobody uses it on the street! But for clarification, there is only 1 ECM, correct? |

Only one ECM on the bike is correct. If it didn't have FOR RACE USE ONLY printed on it, then it is an early model, been sitting on the shelf. No worries as long as the part number is correct. If, somehow you got a stock ECM by mistake, the check engine light will come on because you don't have an exhaust servo any more with the race kit. |

the check engine light will come on because you don't have an exhaust servo any more with the race kit Curious, if you hook DL up to a stock ecm, does that light still stay on? |

He doesn't have a servo Pwnzor. He has a 9 so no check engine light. |
