When I first got my bike, I quickly developed a lot of confidence in it for severe cornering ability. But over the past couple weeks, and during some rain, I was beginning to feel rather uneasy. I was sliding the rear a lot, the bike felt hard to turn, and it was fiercely standing up under braking. I wrote it off to riding in the rain, but was really beginning to loose confidence in the bike, even on dry pavement. But then I noticed a bit of chord showing through the rear and immediately made an appointment to get new tires. I called up Tilley in Statesville and they had the Pirelli Scorpion Syncs in stock, so I went for it. Had them do the 10K maintenance while I was there, even though I only had about 7K on it. So, with these new tires, I am absolutely in love again and back to having the utmost confidence in my bike! AMAZING the difference. The bike feels like it almost wants to fall right over in the turns (fall into the lean, not onto the ground). It is now incredibly easy to turn, and very little, if any at all, standup during braking. Also had a great experience at Tilley. The tech working on the bike was Buell rider and had a lot of knowledge. I also met a sales guy, Paul, who was wearing a Buell shirt on the showroom! Of the 8 or so HD/Buell dealerships I have been to, Paul by far had the most knowledge of the Buell lineup. He even unwrapped a new Uly for us so my brother could sit on it and see how it compared to my 12s. Rich in the service department was also VERY helpful and great to work with. So, great tires (Pirelli Scorp Sync) and great dealer (Tilley in Statesville,NC)! Matt |

Thank God for that. New rubbers make the bike ride more like new than just about any other one thing you can do to it. |

Matt - You'll like the Pirelli's. I'm on my second rear. I had 7k on the one I just had changed and while it was showing the wear in the middle, it still performed better then the stock dunlop. I could have gone another 1000 miles but I picked up a nail. BTW... I've had good luck with Tillys. I've had a couple problems but they are always willing to work things out. |
