Hey guys, I just bought a used Vdsts software kit off eBay , Just wonder is it possible to burn a copy of the CD, just to have as a spare in case anything happens to my original copy? Has anyone burned theirs to have a spare copy on hand? Also I never did get any instructions with it, is there a site with the instructions seems to me , I was on a good site that gave the instructions on how to do a TPS reset along with other details on the use of it? Here is a link to the MFG's website with software/instruction downloads. http://www.technoresearch.com/ There should be no reason you can not burn a copy. There is no license or key required for the standard software. |

Hogs, here is my cable. Make sure that the plug-in is secured into both your laptop and bike (on mine it's under the seat. Also make sure you have setup the correct COM port. To make the connection the software needs to be on but do not push the connect icon until the ignition switch (key) is turned on and the engine kill switch is in run mode. Once key is on and switch is in run mode you have 15 seconds to push connect within the software to make the connection with the ECM.

Oh, one more thing. If your laptop is too new. You may not even have a DB9 RS 232 port. If thats the case you will need a USB to RS232 adapter. |

Thanks Xbswede, That's exactly like what I have, I guess this will work with a desk top PC as well,?? Do you remember what com port you use, or I guess all will be different depending on what one has install on their computer, But this will be just a basic desk top nothing fancy... Oh if ya know will just 95 work? |

Win95 should work fine. I have mine setup on Com 1. You will need to check your hardware devices to see which one you have available on the desktop. You should be able to find this under Control Panel in Win95 |

Make sure you have selected a port either Com 1 or Com 3 (most standard options). Then you need to make sure that the ignition key and switch are both turned on before selecting the ECM Tab. If you wait to long it will not work and you will have to cycle the key switch off and on again along with the run switch. |
