Anybody ever see/used one of these? http://www.designerhelmets.com/proddetail.php?art_ no=523490&prod=New+RO5+Boxer+V&cat=Roof |

yeah, a buddy of mine has a ROOF but he had to order his from the UK. Can't find em' over here in the states. He loves it. Seems to think it's his best helmet in his arsenal of helmets. |

Ive wanted one for a while but only being able to get them in europe makes it difficult to find one to try on before buying. And at that price i want to make sure it fits well. Ive heard that if you have a oval shaped head it may be uncomfortable. Also not DOT approved if that matters to you. Still the best looking lid I have seen. Have seen them on other sites for less $ as well. |

You should wait if you can't try one on for fit. My bumpy noggin fits Arai different than Shoei. My cheapie(HJC) squeezes my front/back too much yet still feels too loose (it sits on the shelf as a last resort). I'd be afraid that as good as the Roof might be, if you get it and the fit doesn't work, you are going to be really disappointed. Google around to see if there IS a place near you where you can try one on - or I'd recommend not getting one without a trial fit. |

Oh and for nearly $470 US - I'd definitely think twice about getting one on before a test fit. using the currency converter at XE.com .... http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi |

Looks like its been updated to the Boxer V. Better ventilation and closing tabs on the chin bar, which were two big knocks against it. Still would like to test fit though. |

(too much time on my hands this AM) I couldn't find anybody selling them retail in about 10 minutes of google-searching. Don't know where you might go to try one on... might be cool to get your thoughts on fit, finish and the view. |

Yeah I notice traffic picks up on badweb when we're all supposed to be working. Shame on us! LOL! It's easy to get sucked in. I swear I just logged on to check responses to one post and then get off. That was a good half hour and three posts back. (Me in my little cubicle office) |

might be cool to get your thoughts on fit, finish and the view. As far as fit goes I have no idea what to expect or what to say. The only helmet I've ever owned is my current icon. Got it on sale for $175-ish when I bought the bike about a year ago. Finish and view, again my experience is limited at best. I honestly just saw a helmet that I though looked bad A, thought for I'd get some opinions on it before I let myself think about buying it...Gotta be careful, otherwise I'd nickel and dime myself into poverty, but a $500 helmet is hardly nickel and diming...} |

They're a favourite amongst the streetfighter fraternity here in the UK. If your head is shaped like a sphere, go for it. |

i like those, seriously looked at buying one. my main problem is the straps that hold down the chin bar. i dont trust a piece of fabric to keep the whole front of the helmet in place when i land face first on the payvment at 70 |

Isn't your lid a different model of Roof helmet Tim? |

Always loved the look of the Boxer. I was in England 'bout a year ago and tried some on while I was there. Didn't fit, dammit! The R010 was a pretty good fit, though. I wear a Shoei RF900, which fits perfectly on my big ole egg-shaped noggin, and an Icon Alliance, which fits pretty well. As 12R said, your head must be very round for the Boxer to fit properly. They sure are cool, though! HellBuelly J |

I was looking into these a few weeks ago and found a number of negative reviews from owners who crashed and had the chin bar unlock and open. That was enough for me to stop looking. They look great though. |

I love the look, but: My my head isn't round. I'm suspicious of flip up helmets of any type. I LOVE the look though. |

Suspicious of modular helmets? Don't be: http://tinyurl.com/ndl9t Just bought a Schuberth C2 to compliment my Nolan N100e. I used to wear Arai, but I LOVE my modular helmets. You can't beat them for convenience and comfort. |

Ya, I saw that review too. But now they have the Boxer V which addresses a lot of the complaints. Does anyone know if they fixed the loose chin bar problem with the new design? Having the face open up on me is something I think I could live without. |

It looks like the attachment design is the same. I love the look of it, but I just don't see how that can be as secure as other attachment methods. I so want to like this helmet. |
