On the front of the bike, on the cross bar that connects the 2 forks, there is one screw on the left hand side that holds a clamp for the brake lines. On the right hand side I see an open screw hole. Is that hole supposed to have a dummy screw in it? or has it always been empty. Just curious. |

I just went and checked my lower triple clamp... no hole like the one you describe. I wonder how many bikes have, or don't have, that extra hole? Curious. |

I can't remember for sure but I believe that the extra "empty" hole is on 05 & up models with the larger lower tree for the 43mm forks. |

That hole looks like it's filled up on my '06 12R. Not with a screw, it's painted over. Sam |

On my 05 the boss is there but the hole was never drilled and taped |
