replacing them with standard firebolt or lightning lever pivots would be the easiest way.

I would just replace them. I've never heard of anyone shortening the longer city-x pivots.

DaveS probably has the firebolt/lightning pivots available on his shelf.

I got my pivots from DaveS when I removed mine.

fastlane - the cityx bolts are different from the other lightnings ( obviously, since none of the others have the hand guards).

unless you know quite a bit about hardware, and can cut shouldered bolts to the required length, the best best is to simply order the parts from Daves - probably only cost you a couple of of bucks..

Just by new ones, they're cheap. Or swap with someone who wants the handguards, that's what I did. Drift (a local club member) wanted to lose his handguards, I wanted the handguards. We swapped hardware and he got beer money.

Three ways to get a hold of Dave

1. go to the sponsor section, click on Appleton Buell then post your need in the "Dave I need it now" thread or...

2. Send Dave a pm or...

3. Give him a call. This is the best option. The number to reach him is in the sponsor section/appleton buell

pokinatcha - that sounds odd: purchases from daves take a lot less time than that to get to me, even though I'm in B.C. ( opposite side of the country + customs to get through)

I'm guessing they just came via regular mail??
