REF: http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=27625 So since 1983, 100 thousand bikes. GREAT - YES?? That is 4,347 bike per year average, or if you fast forward to 1994 or so and count the early ones in there- it's 7,692 bikes per year average>>> For reference, Ducati averages about 30 Thousand per year, The Japanese bike manufacturers- goodness only knows... Harley makes 100 thousand bikes every 4 months!! Sorta makes you feel special don't it??

I have always said that Buell should do what Corvette does. With Corvette you can go to their site and log in your VIN. It will tell you what color exterior, interior, accessories, wheels, etc. your bike had as well as how many were produced like yours. You would then know that you have a one of 1348 produced. I believe that they have also refined that amount to reflect how many have been scrapped due to wrecks, etc. If you are looking to buy a 1972 Stingray you can look to see what the original paint, engine, and interior to see if what you are getting is original or not. You can also use it to return the bike to original as a resto project. It doesn't matter as much right now, but 20 years from now, I think these bikes will be collectors items because of their lower numbers. In 20 years, you can probably buy a vintage Buell for the price of 5 GSXRs. |

So my serial number 3 is worth something? nice... I'm going to be like the old man in my neighborhood with his cherry '68 GTO, original owner. Smile at everyone who makes outrageous offers, and politely decline. Mom always said I was special. (Message edited by pwnzor on November 18, 2006) |

I think there is a misunderstanding here. The 100,000th bike was a S3T for Buell I think what they are hyping this time is 100,000 for this year. that is a milestone for buell to do in 1 year and sell. I have one of the 100,000th t-shirts the upper guys got when that happened. I'll post the picture of it when I get home. |

The 100,000th bike was a S3T for Buell I think what they are hyping this time is 100,000 for this year. No way, that would be 274 bikes per DAY, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No way. 100,000 total is more like it. It's only one factory. |

maybe he was thinking of the 10,000th bike being an S3T? There have been press releases etc detailing the 100,000th Buell being a Uly. |

Yeah it must be 10,000th bike you were thinking about. I found the following link which shows the production numbers of each model.(Not sure of the accuracy but it seems to follow other numbers I've seen) http://www.motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/buell.htm l |

Important to note that webpage was written at some point in 2004. I was surprised to see a drop in 2002-2003 sales according to that website. Possibly fear of buying the first year of a new design causing this? |

You punch in the vin # and like magic, all that info appears. |

1 = Baloney (balogne?) Bologna? Not! Valid. 2 = bitching, not whining, there is a difference. Agreed. There's a difference and we, you and I, seem to disagree on what qualifies as which. FACT: The "Anonymous" poster is the laughing stock of the internet. I'm not a big fan of anonymous anything. If a person wants to participate and identifiable participation threatens their livelihood anonymous posting is in order. All anonymous posts are reviewed for validity. "......is the laughing stock of the Internet." Blanket statement based on nothing. You've had posts deleted and I'd say in some cases you intentionally threw up something that crossed the civil boundaries of BWB and waited for it to get tossed. Internet banter, and argument, is way too circular and normally creates more problems than it solves. Blake does not post anonymously -- I have no hidden agenda, no reason to lie, no allegiance to Buell, just a guy in Pumpkin Center enjoying my Buells and all the great friends I've made because of this board. You're entitled to your opinion, just like I am. Blanket statement based on nothing. <-- blanket statement, based on nothing. I'm all over the place, and everywhere that BadWeB is known, "anonymous" is a running joke. So perhaps, not the whole internet. |

STFU... This was a pretty cool thread. There are perfectly good AND valid reasons for the anony posts. It has nothing to do with anyone "wanting" to post anonymously... It has to do with necessity. You know... Legal stuff and all that. If you don't like the anony stuff then take it with a grain of salt but you simply must recognize that no other manufacturer posts anything at all... We have it good here . Stop bitching about it... Besides... We've been over the possible ex-communication of the "anony" feature. It took several pages. You know that. |

Matt (Pwnzor), Concerning Anonymous: 1. You may be confused. "Anonymous" is a lot more than one individual. 2. Anyone who trolls the internet claiming that "Anonymous" posters here on BadWeB are a "joke" are most likely:
a) the opposite of enthusiastic about Buell motorcycles; b) acting on some sort of petty personal grudge; c) banned from BadWeB; d) not credible; e) just unhappy mean people f) all the above. 3. The honest truth is that anonymous contributors here have provided some of the most interesting and valuable information pertaining to Buell motorcycles that one could hope to find. I guarantee that few if any would express to any Anonymous' face such petty insult as you have seen fit to wage here. Then again, I'm not sure why anyone ever feels justified in making such mean and insulting statements in a public venue. It is nothing but miserableness. Surely you are better than that. We simply ask that anyone who is unable to muster the integrity to reign-in on spewing miserableness here, no matter who or what the target, to please take it elsewhere. Thank you sincerely for your consideration and understanding. |
