You know I wonder if Erik and the guys at Buell ever come to this forum to look at the comments of their customers. I'm pretty sure this is the largest collection of Buell riders on the net. If they did I think they would notice a couple of things: 1. Keep the aircooled torque v-twin bikes. This is what made us fall in love with Buell Motorcycles to begin with. 2. Make atleast one short-stroke, OHC, liquid cooled v-twin bike so that we don't have to go to a different brand to get a superbike. Buell has been building bikes for over decade. I would think that he has something up his sleeve. Come'on Erik show us your hand! (Message edited by NotPurpleS2 on November 18, 2006) |

"Repli-racers are gay." "Opinions are like assholes." Yeah they're almost as gay as Repli-SuperMoto's. |

The 1098 Ducati makes 160hp with 1099cc 90lbs of torque ,what is stopping Buell, the 1203 has been around ,16 years in evo form and 4 in its current state, 30+ years before all of that so it has had plenty of time to evolve .So hopefully next July Erik will have what I have been asking for. |

Possibility or Dream? I'd say it was a necessity for 2008. Anything less than the brand new exciting model will be a worldwide disapointment. |

It would be interesting to see the sales figures--how many would go "traditional Buell" vs. "superbike Buell"? Might surprise some folk for sure. |

Fresno that is exactly what I would LOVE to see Buell do. Unfortunately the XB spelled the end of the tube frame Buells. I hope that bit of history does not repeat itself. I hope the XB series lives on in the Uly and the lightning series even when the next generation firebolt comes out. |

Seems to me that the Buell would test the market with an XBRR derivative, then see where the sales numbers go. If a huge percentage of sales are made up of the new repli-racer, then that is the direction the company must take. That being said, I think there will be a market for the XB series since there are people with limited dollar, people who don't need the HP and/or want a more ergonimically friendly machine. Personally, i just want to see Buell take the next step. By the time that the next generation Buell emerges, it will be time for my to buy a new bike AND my skill will have hopefully devloped enough to take advantage of at least a portion of the new performance. I want my next bike to be another Buell and it will be VERY nice to be able to step into another Buell that is superior to my current XB. |

I should probably ask Josh Cox, but I am thinking he told me that his dealership's XBRR, is pushing pert-near Busa numbers on the H.P. front. |

Repli-racer.....probably not exactly. But I'd guess the Diabobrian isn't too far off the mark. The next Buell WILL be revolutionary. There are dealerships out there that can't wait to get them in their showrooms. But that's all just hear-say until I actually see the 2008 model. |

does the "anonymous" poster work for Buell? Is he privy to "water-cooler" talks or would this idea still be in Erik's brain. There has to be some talk in the company if this is the direction they are going!!! |

Though it was far from effective on the race track, the VR1000 was absolutely stunning... (Message edited by JScott on November 20, 2006) |

Hey, Jscott does that VR1000 come in yellow? If so I want one. OK, I'll take it in orange and black. Gorgeous bike! |

Anony doesn't always work for Buell. They can be contractors as well. I actually saw an anony post a while back that specifically stated that it was Erik doing the typing. '08 should be good I'm thinking. I don't "know" anything, but the water is certainly headed under the correct bridge (and I don't mean water cooling...). |

A friend of mine owns skull valley... He hasn't heard of it . Actually, I'm pretty sure Buell (and HD) use Fords proving grounds down south... |
