The HD battery isn't holding a charge on my bike all that well. The stator is new and I get about 13-14 volts at idle. I let the bike sit idle in storage for almost 2 weeks and it's dead. Anyone know of a good aftermarket replacement battery? |

You might have a current leak. You should get a charged battery, then disconnect the positive terminal of the battery. Then when everything is off and the key is out (just like in storage) connect a multimeter between the positive terminal of the battery and the wiring harness and measure if there is any current flowing. If there is, there is a short somewhere. Sometimes the short is tiny and only allows a trickle of current to flow which is why it doesn't blow fuses and takes some time to discharge the batt. If there is no current flow, then buy a new battery. |

The H-D battery is a good one and at a decent price also. Do you have a reason that you want an aftermarket one? Issues that tend to arrise for people with aftermarket ones, is terminal posts being wrong, it's not a huge deal, but to me it's not worth my time. |

Did you check the cables? They do tend to loosen some. |

". <this is a period , <this is a comma Puncuation and the use of sentences is a plus." Correct spelling is a plus too. I could'nt find Puncuation in the dictionary. Punctuation is the closest I could find. |

Guys I took my multimeter out and checked the regulator connector to see if it's getting voltage and seems like all the connectors were. I believe the FSM says something about using a trouble light to check to test the leads and if they light up the regulator needs replacement. Does this sound about right? I checked the volts when the bike was on and it looked good so I have to double check. |

There have been a rash of bad connections behind the front sprocket cover. Check BOTH connectors to and from the regulator. I've got a hunch I'm still chasing one even after the dealership 'fixed' it for the third time. |
