My 2007 long pulled the sputter sputter Pacman wawawa* thing on me at 600 miles this past weekend. Not far from home so we limped there with me Thinking "Oh Oh , here we go?" Dealer picked up bike from house on Monday (which was nice of them since they are in NJ and I am on the nigh inaccessible south shore of Long Island)and told me they would get right on it.Got call back this morning which is timely enough in my book and was told that bike had " severe intake leak" which was taken care of. Told them to take care of 1000 mi. service and call me when all is well.I couldn't spend time on the phone with him as It's "Bosses will not leave me alone day" at the old plumbing office.......so anyone care to help me clarify "Severe intake leak" or at least narrow it down 2 or three possibilities? |

Intake seals were prolly leaking. Where your exhaust headers meet the cylinders. |

well it is either one of three or combination of three seals. You have a seall between the TB and intake manifold and one seal between each head and intake manifold. Sometimes these go bad sometimes they don't. I am glad you have a dealer that could easily diagnose and fix the problems with no major troubles.. |

Why don't you just E-Mail them and ask. If it is Liberty then they are on Bad Web in sponsors link! Jeff |

My bike had an "intake leak" early on, didn't leave me stranded or anything, just wouldn't idle right. Throttle body was replaced under warranty and it's been fine ever since. They told me it was a manufacturing defect in the throttle body itself, not Buell's fault. Of course they would say that, but the problem has not returned so I don't care. Point is, they fixed it right away. |

If it was your bike, Greenlatern, the intake seals were actually torn around 90% of the seal, which I've never seen before. I've seen small cuts or notches in the seal itself, but noting of this magnitude. I didn't get the job myself, but the tech working on it showed the seals to me. Pretty bizarre, but I've seen exhaust gaskets in the same condition. Sometimes seals just go bad. The good news is you have a 5 year emissions warranty to cover stuff like that. |

Odinbueller, You said "The good news is you have a 5 year emissions warranty to cover stuff like that." What else is covered under this 5 year deal...First I have heard of this??? Interesting?? |
