i have been thinking that if the insurance company decides to totall my bike and it is relativley cheap to buy it back from them ...i might buy it back because it really just needs controls lights and a rear subframe to be a functioning motorcylce and buy a city cross kick ash model they have at ft washington harley davidson...i have some questions though...can you carry a rider on the back of one comfortably or is it just not practical.. i think the city cross looks bad ass even though it is not very popular with everyone ..and then i would have the more cruiser like long distance seating of hte lightning and my firebolt for when i want to have fun..and the bolt will be the payed off beater |

two people is very uncomfortable. I guess the 07s have a less slipprey seat, but still because both people are on the same level one slides into the other, not to mentchen the passenger seat is very small. I think if you were to get a seat with the depression area for the driver is might make it bareable. when i take my friend out, its only for 30 min or less ride. And she is tiny at 5'1" feet and like 115 lbs and its still uncomforable for both. then again I am 6'4" and 175lbs so maybe that is part of the problem |

2up on a CityX isn't the greatest way to ride but it is bearable, i take my g/f out quite often(5'2" 120) and she seems ok with it. Little un comfortable for me(6'1" 250) Quite uncomfortable for my boys if i down shift or brake hard. |

seems like it depends on the both rider, and passenger. I'm 5'4", and the GF is about 5 even. even with ( maybe because of??)the low seat, its pretty comfy for both of us. done 4 hours 2 up, with neither of us getting sore. She was quite surprised at how comfy it is - commented that its not so much the size of the seat pad, but how its shaped, and where its padded one odd thing on the low seat - rather than a traditional waist level grip, she reaches through @ armpit height, and hangs on at collarbone level - took a while to get used to, but works awesome. |

At the American Sport Bike BBQ this year, there was a couple riding 2-up on an XB12S, and I rode behind them on my XB12R for most of the day. Not only were they not holding me up one bit, they were obviously very experienced riding together. The woman, (their names escape me) as passenger was NOT hanging onto the driver, and when he shifted his weight from one side to the other, she did the same. I was very impressed with the riding ability of both man and woman, and when I asked them how the comfort level was, they said they were quite comfortable and could ride all day like that. They had a stock seat. The comfort of the rider and passenger in a 2-up arrangement depends greatly upon the skill of the passenger in most situations. If your passenger is clinging to you and doesn't know how to move with the bike, then neither of you will be comfortable. On that day, we in the lead pack of the "long ride" group were well in excess of 110-120mph in quite a few places. To see a pair riding like that really made me rethink my ideas on using a Buell for 2-up transportation. |
