I am beginning to tear down my front end to remove gauges, headlights, etc. My goal is to make the bike much more naked. I am planning on running a small, all-in-one gauge, and a smaller, brighter headlight. Similar to Hillbillly Motors Hellbender, http://www.hillbilly-motors.com/html/buell_hellben der.html Has anyone ever done this? Any ideas, tips? I need to relocate the ignition as well. Any ideas for placement? Thanks! | ||

trojan has an electrical speedometer that looks pretty small on their website on the 'lighting and electrical' page. i want to do the same thing, but i think i might just take off the speedo and everything and not put them back on. maybe a small digital tach or speedo. maybe. translogic has a smaller all-in-one gage, but it isn't cheap. I have the last generation and I like it, but the new one is a huge leap forward. Min has a bar tach, gear indicator and timer. New ones have the works. http://www.translogicuk.com/in_detail.htm You can even plug in ignition interrupting quick shifters, or power shifters (like mine) into the system. The dash is back-lit, waterproof and made for the vibrations of motorcycles. Unlike many of the bicycle computers I've seen used. | ||

They are proud of their gear, but from what I've seen it is justified. Then again, I may be a little biased. I couldn't ride anything bigger than a scooter without my powershifter (PS4, no longer offered) Except for a minor problem, caused by operator error, my system has worked perfectly. Unfortunately the problem struck at homecoming  The gear is still top notch. | ||

Heads up displays are becoming available. Seems like I remember prices in the 500 dollar range. |
