Be advised Xbob, my understanding is that a lot more then just striping the paint went into those two pics. From all I've heard and the little experiments I've done with small pieces - polishing to that level will take MANY hours. Does look cool as hell though doesn't it? Nice bikes Pwnzor. |

Mmmm . Doin my swingarm on the weekend and gunna give the forks a shot as well. The fron kinda lets them bikes down with all the flashy polishing and a stocky front end IMO. And as far as engine covers go, My buell had the roughest casting I have ever seen thru any make or model of cycle, so be prepared when ya rip the paint off for ages in front of the tv sanding or takin it to a professional. Yeah that's Misato's ex-ride. He did that himself with a pneumatic grinder, with the frame still on the bike. He supposedly sold the bike to a relative all the way down here in So. Cal. but I haven't seen the bike on the road anywhere. Misato's website is down, used to have all the before and after pictures on it, but I just checked and the whole thing is gone Docktor -- be careful with the forks. They are hard anodized, and once you get through that outer shell you will hit very soft aluminum and the game will change in the blink of an eye. |

Yeah , They will get a touch soft, I am a polisher by trade so that will help a little, lol. Just not sure I wanna cut em or maybe strip and carbon fibre coat, probably wont suit my bike tho. Did my engine covers and was severly dissapointed with the quality of the castings, IF the covers are anything to go by, then the frame will be shite too. My frame is covered with home made covers going from top weld to footpeg mount holes so I got no need to polish the frame. Doc |

Did you take the covers off to polish them? |

I would love to see some pics of the process for a swingarm. Mine is just waiting for me to order some sandpaper... and maybe a power-tool or two this time. |

Just find some pictures of the XBRR race bike. The frame and swingarm on it are natural finished. |

My comment was to Xbob, the thread starter. He wanted to see a bare finished frame. (Message edited by Nasty73z on October 31, 2006) |
