Hello everyone ....
I recently purchased a 03 xb9s ....
I love the bike .. but there are a couple issues ...
First ...how do you get these bikes to stoppe .. are the better brakes avalible ...
Second ... what are the best choice of tyres for track days ...
Third ... are there better ways of gaining performance ... or is the factory race kits the way to go ....
All Oppinions are appreciated !!!

Congrats on your purchase!

1. For a stoppie, just go faster and pull the brake harder (disclaimer: if you wreck it isn't my fault).

2. For tires there are a million options and opinions on this. Go to ridedirect.com and buy a set of tires for $200 and kill them on the track is what I would say.

3. There is a ton of performance upgrades from mild to wild on these bikes. Talk to Daves from Appleton HD or Al at American Sportbike. They are in the sponsor section. Also, follow the link to American Sport Bike and find the XB exhuast shootout to decide which pipe to buy. They used just about every pipe available in the shootout. I don't think you'll find any better information than you'll find there anywhere or for any bike.

Good luck. Enjoy the ride!

Mark,

I have a set of Nissin 804 pads that I think have greatly increased the braking ability of my bike. I've found them to be fade free on the race track.

I personally like the Pirelli Diablo Super Corsa Pros. Very sticky and have a reasonable life and price.
