I'm going to try a set of these. For $60 bucks, they are a pretty good deal:
I like them because they have both the gauntlet velcro closure as well as the wrist cuff closure. Nothing worse than having your gloves riding off your hands and no way to keep it from happening. I also like the armor. I know know about the waterproofing. I have grip heaters that will riggin' leave a blister, so insulation is less of an issue. |

I have the Buell "X" Waterproof Gauntlet Gloves and they are very warm and waterproof! I rode in the rain for over three hours and my hands stayed dry. Very warm though! |

Hey ft bstrd: what kind of gloves are those? They look great but I don't recognize the logo. Thanks. |

http://www.njkleathers.com/leathers/gloves.html Made by a guy out of CA. I just bought the Breeze jacket. The quality is outstanding. This is the best mesh jacket I have ever seen. I am looking to have some leathers put together by them as well. I'd like a combination Buell/Jester motif. With a last name like mine, you just can't pass that up! |

Hey, those Tour masters are cool! They have a built in squeegee for your visor! I have the Tour Master "Robo" race gauntlets, and have really enjoyed them, though they're FREEZING in cold weather, even with the Polar Fleece liner. Maybe I should check into the Cold Fronts? BTW, I think the Buell gloves look kinda' goofy... just MHO, of course. Not quite sure what I don't like about them, though... ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on October 19, 2006) |

I heard the cold fronts are not very warm. They have a glove called the winter elite (Tourmaster) that I would like to try. |

I have the Buell X "waterproof" gloves. I would say they are plenty warm, and mostly water proof. Actually, the only reason I got my hands wet was because I was parked in traffic in the rain, and the water was flowing down my jacket right under the gauntlet and into my gloves. Now I wear my riding jacket under the gloves, and a rain suite over the gloves. Been working great since then. BUT... I find them to be VERY bulky. Not sure what else to expect from water proof gloves, but I find it hard to feel my clutch and brakes. I seem to ride much more jerky with the X gloves on. Also have a few weird contact points in them. Kinda' makes my right palm hurt after a while. I may have just got a bum pair though, not sure. They are warm, dry, and I like the style. Just a bit too bulky. |

I have a pair of Tourmaster winter elite gloves & so far I'm liking them. Warmth is decent till you get in the mid to low 30's while traveling at 55+ mph. The built in rain cover helps fight the wind chill as well as keep the mitts dry in the rain. On edit: They're a little bulky but not terribly bad. I can't think of any warm gloves that don't have some bulk to them. (Message edited by metalstorm on October 19, 2006) |

I heard the cold fronts are not very warm My commute this morning at 34F says they are pretty warm I like 'em because they aren't as bulky as most "winter" gloves. |

I agree with Swordsman. The Buell gloves are funky looking. I think it is the square padding they have on them. our hands are not square, so why would my gloves be? of course, just an opinion. |

I have the Buell X glove also. I find that they are excellent in cold weather. I don't wear them above 50F. Like Mattl, I had the same water down the sleeve when stopped, and I feel that they are a little bulky on the levers and switches. I think you'd have to go to electric gloves to get warmer ones. I've ridden long trips in weather as low as 36F and raining, my hands never got cold or wet. You need to make sure of a good fit, if they're just a little too big they will be sloppy-clumsy-bulky. I like them for cold. |

Oh yeah... I did have to spray them with a leather water proofer. |
