I want to take out the silver color center piece on my 03 XB9S chin fairing and replace it with a black one like comes on the newer City X's. Will they interchange ? Anybody have one they want to part with ? DaveS...How much for a new one ? Thanks ! PM Clark |

I just sanded mine down, and painted it with black satin for easy cleaning. Really took less time and money than ordering a new one, and worked great for a couple of years until I sold the bike. Now I have a black bike, and I am back to cleaning the grey panel. Now that I think of it, I think I will paint it with some of the Buell Magnesium Tone. I have two can's in the closet which I used to paint the inspection covers on the primary chain case of my Twelve. Should make it easier to wipe the dirt off. Nothing like a new project!

I painted mine with the black wrinkle wall rattle can paint from the auto parts store. It has been very durable for a long time too! |

The cityx chin piece will not fit your 03 xb9s. I bought one because it was black thinking it would have to fit. THe center piece bolts to the rest of the chin fairing, it just won't fit under the bike. The mounting locations are ever so slightly different. Hope that helps. Smokescreen |
