Is it really that hard to remove the clutch cable on an xb12r. I needed help from a buddy to push on the other end of the cable and then I managed to get it off then that damn little piece on the end fell into the cover. of course it was full of oil. Was I just stupid ?? |

I think the piece that dropped into the primary is magnetic... Ya may be able to work a magnetic snake thru the derby cover and pull it out... or one of them grab/snake gizmos... Do ya have a service manual? I strongly recommend one. |

Grisman - I managed to drop the little piece in there too. It isn't the end of the world. I made a little hook from a piece of copper wire and fished the thing out. Getting it back on can also be interesting. I ended up taking out the ball ramp mechanism so I had more room to work. I'm sure that isn't strictly necessary, but it helped me. |

thats exactly what i ended up doing- using a piece of wire- well see about putting it back on- thanks for the tip. |
