Replacement battery models include: Yuasa YTX14-bs Interstate uses same # DEKA ETX14 and of course the OEM number you referenced is also a good quality unit IF purchased fresh, dont get an old one that has been sitting for a year. |

Go with an Odyssey battery. That's my target once the stock battery goes. http://tinyurl.com/f82g6 Expensive, but worth it, I think. |

Why would you want to run anything other than the HD AGM sealed gel battery? They are the best batteries on the market. Who wants to mess with acid and all the other crap that goes along with non HD batteries? Everything else is junk and headaches! |

Beachbuell, have you looked at the Odyssey batteries? You think those are junk? |

Get the HD Battery, Mine lasted 3 years in my 2003 XB9, than I traded it on my Uly. I'm only on my 2nd batt on my 98 S1 and 99 S3 |

How much is the HD battery? If it is within 30 bucks of the Odyssey I would pass on the HD one. Just my opinion of course. |

Hmm, Appears to me there might be an issue with mounting the Odyssey in the XB's. Notice the positive and negative leads are backwards and on top instead of on the side. This is from the model that supposedly fits the Buell all 1200's all years. Price at this site is $95. http://www.batterymart.com/p-ODY-PC545MJ.html |

I ran an Odyssey in my '99 S3. ...Not impressed but I wouldn't call 'em junk either. The metal jacket made fit almost impossible and it didn't last nay longer than a typical OEM battery. Because it is a dry cell battery, Odyssey cannot be charged nor tested like a typical battery. (Per Odyssey) The newer HD batteries are sealed, nice, and available. DAve |

You can get 'em without the metal jacket, but they don't recommend it for use in a Buell due to the heat and vibration to which they'd be exposed. |

My XB9 will be four years old next month. I just replaced the original HD battery yesterday. It was replaced with the same. Never had a moment's trouble out of it even when the stator died and ran the battery down to 11 volts. I call $20/year pretty cheap. |

I bought a HD battery after 3years because my son works at advance auto and the diffrence on a gel battery was only about 6 bucks after his discount. they should should be in stock as is the same bat. as V ROD and it fits right in no hassels. And you know it is right!! |
