My heel guards look like crap from my boots... I worn through the paint... Thought about just polishing them.. Too much work and I'll only scratch them up again... Has any one line-x their guards? How do these shops work are they willing to work with you and small parts... |

Powder coat will scratch, polishing is fast and easy. Maybe chrome plate for you? |

mine have been powdercoated for a looong time now, and they are just fine. We used Harley Black wrinkle finish, its more durable that just smooth finish. |

are the black Buell heel guards powder coated or just painted? I have them and have the same issue...they're scuffed through from my boots |

I'm not sure, but by looking at the finish I'm pretty sure they are powder coated.. Its a real hard finish and I don't see primer.. Thought about cross hatching them with a wire wheel.. I'm going to give the local Linex a call tomorrow. (Message edited by Teddagreek on September 17, 2006) |

Altima02 Who did your powder coating? I'd like to have a few parts done in that finish but haven't found anyone who can do it. Thanks... |

Heel guards are aluminum right? Just anodise them to black, most durable solution, IMO. |
