Line X told me it wont stick to plastics. I called today, and they basically told me they wont do it because they cant warranty it. Someone that has this done please tell me how well it holds up. I have a spray can paint job now that looks great, almost like a line X job, but is chipping real bad.

Any info is greatly appreciated. I dont want to spend the money if it isnt worth it.

Had my airbox cover and passenger cowl Line X covered. It stuck really well on the cowl but peeled off of the airbox cover within a week. I was pretty bummed since it looked quite good.
I used a infrared temp gun and found the temps around certain areas exceeded the range that Line X says the product will withstand. I couldn't tell ya' if that had anything to do with it but I can say I will never do it again. I had to end up buying a new airbox cover after their second attempt at coating it.
Hope this helps

One of my best friends own a Line-X store and used to work for corporate. Line-X will stick to plastic if it is rough enough, but it can peel and will peel if plastic is smooth. He reluctantly sprayed some fender flares for me that I prepped and it has lasted a year so far, but I did notice a corner starting to peel.

My entire bike has been Line-Xed for over a year now. No problems. It sticks just fine to smooth plastic. All they need to use is the standard prep chemicals and all is fine. Be sure the entire piece is sprays all the way around. A complete seal is rock solid!
Have your guys call Line-X of Torrance, CA. Ask for Herb for info.
