so i took my xb12scg in for some warranty work. my valve seals where bad for the second time. the first time they fixed it they did a great job but they put the same type off seals back in it. there is a updated seal for it that they did not use. so any way it ran great for about 4200 miles when they blew out again, causing it to use a lot of oil. so i brought it back into my dealer and explained to them what was going on. they knew right away what the cause of the problem was. so they asked me when i wanted to bring it in to get it fixed. well i brought it into get fixed and they put the updated seals in it. i went to pick it up yesterday and they tried to charge me for it. the charges came up to around $1600 i just about pooped my pants. it turns out they never submitted a claim to buell for warranty work and where trying to cover there a$$ by attempting to collect from me. i told them no way am i paying for this! that is why i have a warranty and it is not my fault that they made a mistake. they did not want to give me my bike. they wanted me to come back monday after they hear back from buell. that is a whole other problem. i am meeting a few other badwebbers at deals gap on sunday through thursday. so they ended up letting me take my bike and i have to go talk to them on friday. i will let you know what happens.. sorry this is so long. i needed to vent to some one. |

Dealership? I would have a separate conversation with Buell and let them know directly what is going on. You are relying on what the dealership is telling you without verification. I would assume, though, that the dealership is planning on doing the right thing until they prove otherwise. Help them to reach the logical conclusion that you both want. There is obviously a problem. If there is an upgraded seal and they failed to use it, it's their fault, not yours. |

Don't let them charge you. Even if the correct seals failed after being put in, you are covered by your warranty for two years. If that time is up, Buell also has "goodwill" warranties on claims also. |

the dealership i took it too is a pretty good one. i expect them to do the right thing. they have treated me really good in the past. but it is still frustrating dealing with it. on the plus side the bike runs better than it has in a long time. Josh_cox, yes this should definitely be covered under warranty, plus i bought a 1 year extended warranty. i still have a one and a half years left of warranty. |

Sounds like they made a mistake. Maybe it was rework because they did it wrong, maybe it was parts failure - either way it should not be cust pay. If your bike is still under warranty and they ask you to pay anything call tech services. |
