after getting home from work my son likes to honk the horn on my bike before I put it away. Tonight it didn't work....hmmmmm. Little troubleshooting found a blown fuse. There is nothing shorted to ground....I know that for sure because I checked it with my multi meter. I checked for wire with damaged insulation and didnt see any.....I was disappointed with the quality of the wiring job behind the flyscreen... Come on electrical tape!!!!! I Did ride in the rain a couple of days ago....can't tell you for sure if that was the cause or not. Any idea of where to look for the damaged wire? The fuse did fix it.......at least temporarily. |

I chased this Gremlin before. If you have a xb 05 or later the horn, brake light, and interactive exhast servo are on the same circuit. I discovered that when I took off my air cover the cable going to the servo engine was rubbing and cause the fuse to blow. I spent a whole day on this think it was the wires to the breaks and or horn not knowing the servo engine is also on this circuit. To test, disconnect the servo red wire and see if the problem goes away. |
