Well I have been surfing this site as a member for almost a month now without owning a Buell. I test drove a Buell and loved it, so I was seriously considering buying a Buell which I new very little about. and wanted to get as much background info on the bikes as possible before making final decisions. And I am Happy to say that Saturday morning I will take delivery on a New 06 City-X Lighting left over that is the Hero Blue color (I wanted the Ash color but got a real good deal on this 06) So I just wanted to thank everyone on the board because after 3 weeks of reading random posts and asking question and absorbing as much information about these bikes I feel very confident about the bike and cannot wait to finally change my profile to an actual Buell as my bike, haha. So Thanks again and hopefully Sunday night when I get off the bike from a unbelievable weekend, I will have a lot of miles and some pics of it. Ohh side note my friend bought an 07 Street Glide that he is also picking up on Saturday with me, but to each their Own Patrick |

Sweet deal...can't wait to hear your reports on how the Buell lifestyle treats you... prepare for the bashing from "other" bike owners...and of course for the admiration and "what's that" questions as well... CONGRATULATIONS!!! |

Yea my buddy kinda did the searching for me through the dealers. He knew he wanted that Street Glide either 06 or 07, and knew that if we both went in to buy bikes we could get a better deal, so he had to find an HD dealer that also sold Buells and that had an in stock 06 City-X, so needless to say we had to go all the way to Portland Maine to find the closest place where both bikes were their on the show room floor. But we are both very Happy with our purchases, although he is a little aggravated that his bike is more then double the price of mine. Yea I was actually wondering if anyone has pulled those Buell Stickers off the translucent panel with out any problems, they seam really thick? I just love a nice clean sticker less bike. And I figure then I will really be getting some questions about what type of bike is that, haha |

Congratz on the bike! Be careful with that translucent finish... when I was shopping around, every one I saw had circular scuffs from the floor guys wiping the dust off. Apparently the plastic scratches pretty easily. Way to go for choosing an "S" variant! 'Bolts get too much love around here... ~SM |

Yep, pulled mine off two days after I got it. Comes right up, and the little residue that might remain can be taken off with some Goo Gone or similar product. Make sure you get some Novus to keep the translucent panels from being too scratched, thye seem to scratch easily. --Sean |

How much would shipping be? When will you ever get a better excuse to ride across the country? Seriously. It could be a great adventure. |

Well picked up the new bike on Saturday and rode through out Maine and NH with a few friends. Then rode back to Mass on Sunday in the RAIN, that was horrible, but the bike was good, and the hand guards kept the wind from freezing my soaking wet gloves. I put 350 miles on it, would have been a lot more if there was no rain. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to get past the break-in period of 500 miles. I do have a few questions about maintaining the bike I use to work on bikes at a speed shop and went to a vocation High school for automotive so working on the bike is no problem for me. I figure I will let the dealer do the 1000 mile service, and then I will do the rest of the services. Anyone know of a good dealer in Eastern Mass that does a lot of Buell work, worse case I bring it back up to the Maine Dealership that I bought it to have it done. Also any problem with Warranty claims and people doing their own maintenance? I really would like to do my own services, as I not keen on trusting complete strangers (maybe I am just a snob) Also I will post some pics in the picture section hopefully tonight, thanks |

The factory service manual is great! If you do your own service keep good records and receipts to prove the work. If you do that you should have no problems. If you have technical questions the BadWeB is one of the best sources of info anywhere! The KV has a huge amount of technical data for Buells of all ages. |
