I sure wish something would go easy with the dealer but neither of my local ones know or care a thing about Buells. I brought down the recall/free upgrade notice that Glitch was kind enough to post. It clearly says ALL XB9 produced BEFORE Nov 7 02. Despite this they say that HD NET does not include my bike which is clearly an XB9 made in August of 02. What the heck is going on with these people? They refuse to acknowlege the notice I have and said that if it does not say it on HD net I am out of luck. They installed my rear bearing becasue one failed and the Regional warranty guy for HD told them to fix it. They do however refuse to change out the fronts under the free upgrade or recall notice. I am going to have to raise a stink with Buell CS again I guess. Sure gets old. |

If the bearing cover is Black IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED! No matter what H-D net says, man all dealers need a Buell guy, it should be mandatory LOL. You don't have orange seals on your bearings do you? |

No they are the old black ones. The real funny thing is that I already had bought the bearing last year as I had more cash and could not afford the down time. The F-ing dealers here flat out refuse to deal with the issue any further than H-D net. I am so very frustrated with these people. Add Skip Fordyce of Riverside to the list of crappy Buell dealers. Oh and I overheard the service guy yell out in the background "Is an XB9 a Thunderbolt?" IDIOTS!!!! |

They did my wife's no questions asked. Then of course it took a week, they kept it 2 days after it was "Fixed" because now the belt was making a "Noise" "did you notice it before?" Hell No! Then when she got the bike home, we notice a nice crack in one of her mirrors that was never there. Buell service sucks ass, which is the dealer, not Buells fault. Pisses me off. |

I had the same problem....save yourself some time and hassle (like I did three times). Call up Buell Service, tell them to call the dealership while you are on the phone and have them speak to the service manager. That's what it took for me to finally get the bearings replaced. |

skyguy, I realy am starting to see the challenges you have with your dealers. If I can ever help you let me know. this is very sad that they think it was a VIN recall and not a open recall. such as the v-rod fuel flang recall that had no VIN only build dates. |

Hmm, I could really confuse the dealer. I swapped out the amber wheels for a set of silver wheels. Just looked, you guessed it, black bearings. My bike is an '04 12S. Just how hard is it to change the bearings? How much are they, front and rear? At least I don't have to worry about the stealership screwing up the amber powdercoat. |

My bearings gave out on me doing 75 on the freeway. Went into the death shimmy without warning & nearly lost it. The occilation actually bent the wheel hub requiring an entire new rear wheel. Ventura HD replaced it & were helpful & polite. My only complaint is they neglected to do the front ones too.
