I questioned on my last thread the race ECM use with brazilian fuel, I installed it, it seemed to be working fine, RPMs growing faster and stronger, well, fine at all, no weird noises. Today (2 days after installation, probably the ECM learned something already) I went for a ride, at night (kinda cold) I noticed a weird noise when Idling in front of a bar, It sounded like an old VW beetle (something like a ClackClackClack) It continued with low speed, but once I sped up a little bit it stopped, then, I stopped at a stop light no more noise, then, if Idling for longer it would start again, any Ideas on what is happening? Thanks! |

Pull the front fairing plate off and see if the horn is banging against the back side of it. Mine was and it makes a rattle at idle, I mounted the horn backwards as others suggested and it is fine now. There is also a cable clip on the right front frame rail, just next to the steering head. Mine was bent so it held the wire clip up against the frame so it vibrated. I just bent it out away from the frame. |

The front sprocket nut has been known to come loose and make a lot of noise before it causes damage. Buell issued a bulletin. Check out http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/155801.jpg Keith} |

Yup, probably the primary nut. I went through this. It's funny how none of the techs at the dealership could tell me what it was, they kept telling me it was more noise due to putting synthetic into it. |
