whats everyone doing with the servo thats on top of the air box? as I understand it we need to keep this thing hooked up with the direct link until an emulator is made | ||

that is an not true. take it out and put on shelf. remove cable or snake it to somewhere out of the way. when you remove the servo you will get the "check engine" light on but not a big deal. you can get one of the emulators from many of the great sponsors of this board and also one can be made pretty cheap also with radio shack items. direct link does not care if you have it hooked up or not. if you are using the stock ecm you will need an emulator to get rid of the check engine light. if you have the race ecm you should be all set w/ the light problem. i didn't realize there was an air box..  | ||

sounds great.... I was pictureing leaving everything hookup the prevent the check engine light.... any suggestions for an emulator? seemed like al at american sport bikes told me there isnt an emulator available? I must have misunderstood or maybe there isnt one for his direct link map? I wish i was more smart! | ||

Tbowdre, I fitted the Micron and bought a lot of parts including direct link from Al. The emulator I bought from Trojan for £23.40. 2 mins to fit and no warning lights. Steve | ||

yup..Trojan has them for sure. If you have an xb-r you can work the cable and servo to under the seat near the battery, that is where i had mine for a couple weeks. didn't hurt nothing i just thought it looked like crap when i took the seat off for any reason. try daveS also. i would bet he could get them also. may be a little quicker and cheaper not having to cross the pond (Message edited by FIREBOLTERIC_MA on August 04, 2006) | ||

I second Trojan for the emulator. Works fine if you're going to run a pipe without the valve. If you're keeping the stock exhaust, or run a Spec. Ops pipe(keeps it), then you will want to keep the servo working. Just hack or drill away most of the airbox cover you don't need. TK |
