I have a 04 12s,with a Drummer loud, TFI,and a drilled airbox. The bike runs great except for an irritating flat spot between 3700 and 4000 rpm, granted, it's not a wide area but,no amount of fiddling with the TFI gets rid of it.Does anyone think that the swiss cheesed air box could be the culprit??? |

Get rid of the Tfi and get a race ecm. |

Just take the TFI off and you should be ok. |

get direct link if you really want to fix that dead spot. other than that the tfi/power commanders are not so great for our bikes..they work okay but nothing great and I THINK you would be better off not having either of them and just run the stock race ecm. they cause more tunning issues than they are worth. they are not ment for the closed loop systems. just my .000001 |

The PC3 is fine as long as you get it tuned right. The TFI's are ok, but, they were made to work with a stock ECM. They work like shit on a Race ECM. The one I tried would run like a dream one day, and the next run like shit. That was with a Race ECM. Get in touch with Kevin (Kds1), he'll fix you up. |

Get the race ecm or reprogram a stock one and throw the TFI away. Plug and play. |

i believe with the pc3 even if you get it tuned correctly for lets say the summer time, when fall comes around they need to be re-tuned. they just don't work that great and require a lot of upkeep. i guess if you get it mapped for each changing season (assuming you get the changes where you are) you would be okay, but that seems to be a lot of tunning for not much in return. |

I have no experience with the PC3. However I agree with Firebolts thinking, but regarding the TFI. The Buell FI system is just too short on sensors to get an open loop system working well. Also, the transitions between open and closed loop just don't work well with the TFI. |

Did you try contacting Kevin yet? I suggest you do that and see what he says. I have already talked to him about my problem and think it's one of two things. Let me know how you make out. I am convinced that the TFI isn't totally bad. |

Talked to Kevin, and he was more than helpful. This is my third Buell, and have had a TFI on two of them, with no problems associated with them...to be truthful Iv'e had more problems with the race ecm's for the 12....Thanks Kevin. |

Yes, one was a 9s, and the other one was a 12R,....the 9 had a fac. race kit and a 12 air box, and the 12 had a D&D/ with a Race ecm, but took it off due to cold idle issues, went back to the stock ECM and a TFI and it ran great... but not as hard as my current 12s/w a Drummer loud. |
