I am looking to find a stock 12 muffler with the interactive valve in it. My bike had the race kit muffler when I bought it and I want to get a stock muffler to make some compairisons for myself. So if anyone has one they wouldn't mind parting with, let me know. |

Blazinc5, I have a stock muffler from my 04 Lightning xb12s I wouldn't mind parting with. Make me an offer. I don't know if it has an interactive valve however. |

Stock 12 pipe w/ servo isn't going to do you any good if the bike already had the servo motor/cable removed from it. Look at the bike first, the servo motor will be a small unit bolted onto the top of the inner airbox. Will take 5 minutes to look for, only have to remove the 4 bolts holding the airbox cover on to find out. Good luck. |

All I need is a muffler, and the low down on why, is because of my wife. It seems that when I leave for work at 10:30 pm I am waking her up since she swithed to a much earlier shift. Now ain't the time to be pissing her off either. She already hates the bike like it's the other woman and with takeing last week off to go to oregon,, she is really ticked. Basicaly I need to quiet the bike down for a lil while till she changes shift again. Plus wheeling it down the street wouldn't be fair to my neibors either. But I really am looking for cheep too,, cause the wife will have my hide if I spend much more on the bike this year. If anything PM me with your price... Thanks in advance. |

Funny...My wife says that even though it costs as much as a mistress, it's the best mistress a wife could ask for. Odie, it sure beats the alternative! |

why not use a stock 9 pipe? similar can, no valve, lighter in weight, less complicated, no valve to rust up and stick. |

In the old days we had a washer on pins that swiveled in the exhaust opening. If you wanted quiet turn it so the washer restricted the airflow (vertical) and thus reduced sound. Turn it to horizontal and free flow and noise. Just a thought, not trying to beat anyone out of a sale. Plan 'B' leave the TV on so she can't hear your bike! |
