I strapped a 20" box fan to the front of my XB motor so I could still ride it this week. |

You know it is hot here in Phoenix, just the other day some bad old guy died and went to hell, when he got there he asked Lucifer (the devil) if he could have jacket. (I don't write-em, just repeat-em) |

when riding up to Laguna for the race my brother and I decided to go through Hunter Liggett army base/reservation since we'd heard the roads were good. At the check-point while we're waiting to get cleared by the guard our boots were sticking to the tarmac as we walked around!! the guard then told us that when he was in Iraq the temp went as high as 158!!!! that's hot |

When I was in Iraq a couple of years ago it got up to 140-something. Let me tell you how nice it is to ride around in a HMMWV without air conditioning wearing a flak vest with heavy-ass plates and a helmet, when it's 130 degrees and humid because you're right between a canal and the Tigris River... Bah. Down here in Kuwait it's only gotten up to the high 120's, but it's a dry heat. Like, stick your head in the oven, turn the hairdryer on high, and point it in your face dry heat... And the A/C in my tent is out, so it's like a little oven. My hands and arms are pruny where they touch the desk, because they're sitting in a puddle of my sweat. But hey, at least there are no mortars or IEDs here! |

I always think about you guys overseas when people complain about the heat here Seanp. People in general when they pitch a fit about random stuff I just remind them to be glad there are no bomb craters in their front yard!

Seanp - we were both amazed when the guard was telling us about the heat in Iraq - amazed that you guys can even function at all never mind actually having to function in a military sense. Made us appreciate you all even more |

I have found one nice thing about the heat. The freakin' deer all head for the deep woods and stay away from the roads! |
