Well guys, here it is.My first buell, I bought it on ebay from florida. Not the most beautiful buell on the block, but it has soo much potential. It was a theft recovery, it runs and drives beautifully but just needs some cosmetics Sooo I need some help and ideas!!!!! I need help finding a gas cap and an ignition switch/lock asap. Also some ideas on what to do about the damn paint lol. I think it has an aftermarket fender and a missing seat cowl thingie, but i'm not sure. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Chris Wallace

I have an extra seat cowl thingy. make me an offer, pay for shipping and it's yours. It has a couple of scratches on it but your going to paint anyway right? I think that you could buff the scratches out if you wanted too. Just PM me. That front fender does not look stock. no mirrors as well. |

The rear blinkers are definately a custom job. I kinda like them actually. I'm not sure how you would get the paint off the plastic. |

All of our bikes are works in progress. They tend to get boring when they are done. I don't have much in the way of spare parts for you, but I'll be happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability, or say I don't know if I don't and point you to someone who will I highly recommend that you get the factory service manual and parts manual to help you on the rebuild. The parts manual has some very nice exploded drawings that supplement the service manual, as well as part numbers to keep the guys at the dealership on the right track. You might be able to score an ignition switch and gas cap from ebay, but the dealership can order one that actually matches the VIN of the bike, in case you ever lose both keys and need to order more. This can be a good thing. |

i will say, with no gas cap i would make sure i pull the plug out of the bottom of the frame in the fuel pump and make sure it gets a good rinsing through there. who knows what got in it. have you even heard it run yet? you can take a couple screws out of the bottom of the ignition lock and it disconnects the turn switch from the keyd part. leaving you something you can put a small screwdriver in and turn to get it powered up. |

yeah it runs good no rice, actually because it was a "theft recovery" whoever stole it wired up their own 2 switch deal to bypass the ignition key. They also ripped the gas cap off so they could keep riding it like they stole it haha Forerunner. But yes i have drained the fuel, and i think it had some major water in it lol. |

You might want to look at our Sponsor section for sources of parts and ideas. Daves of Appleton HD, is a widely used resource for Buell Shop and Parts manual, as well as Buell OEM parts. He is on vacation right now, but he checks his email regularly. Al at American Sport Bike, and Matt at Trojan are great with aftermarket parts. The other sponsors are all very helpful as well, and very knowledgeable about Buelligating. |

The front fender is ugly. I like it. Find a stock one. I'd consider a swap. Nice find! Either your closest dealer, or one of ours (sponsors) can get you a lock set. Keep us posted as you fix er up. Congrats! |
