Quickboard: 20%
KV: 5%
Can someone explain why the "General Discussion Board" is there? Isn't just like the Quickboard with no organization? |

The use of the Knowledge board for anything other than an indexed archive seems flawed. Only people with problems will post in KB, while all the people who have solved the problem browse XBoard for news. KB should be an archive only.

Can someone explain why the "General Discussion Board" is there? Isn't just like the Quickboard with no organization?
I've often wondered that myself.
BadWeb is a GREAT board, but it is not exactly the most orderly thing on the web. I understand the idea of trying to direct more posts to the KV, but if ALL technical content went there, what the heck would be left to be posted on the other boards?

I use the Search Board's New Message Utility so I see a list of every new post on every topic and subtopic and read them selectively.
So the percentages of boards visited for me would relate to where everyone is posting and what I find interesting.
This morning there were about 10-15 posts on seven fresh threads in the KV. The threads were in appropriate sections of the KV and under appropriate subjects.
I posted to 2 of them where I had some knowledge.
I did not post to the ones (including three that were specific to XB's) where I could not help. I hope those aren't perceived as "unread threads in the KV" because all the XB'ers are only reading the XB, Quick, and General boards.

I would use the KV more if people actually posted there. I would divide the KV by product lines M/S/XB/Blasts etc. Anything to make finding model specific informations easy.
It makes sense to have a KV for mods,maintenance and repair related posts instead of having to sift through the XB board.
How many "What tires should I get" or what helmet should I buy" posts have shown up on the XB board?. This info is already in the KV.

As I mentioned, I only go to the KV when I have a problem and am looking for an answer, not because I am looking to see who's problems I can solve. If I can solve a problem that gets posted in the XB board, I will answer if I can. |

I spend most of my time on the Xboard because that’s where most of the posts are, regardless of content. For example, I wanted read what was said about the Ulysses test ride on American Thunder, so I went to the Big, Bad and Dirty Board, and where did I find it, Xbaord.  |

I visit xboard, quickboard, and cool pics. I search when I need specific info, but I have to do a lot of weeding.
IMHO, this board needs a makeover. http://www.v-rodforums.com/ has the best layout I've seen. |

Its a time thing for me, I rarely have the time to navigate and read all the other sections. I am on many forums (like alot of people nowdays) and usually only read the main general post section on each unless I have time to kill. |

Buckinfuell: Who is compiling the stats here?
This is becoming kinda meaningless without some sort of tally and I'm too lazy.
I for one am perpetually frustrated by the layout of the BADWEB itself - though I still use it as the Buell Go-to board for Buell-related stuff despite its organization. |

I think its meaningless, last thread on this was IMO overwhelmingly critical of the KV, mostly because of the layout or limitations of the board software.
The admins think its great, however the boards use is actually determined by its users.

Gotchya. I started going through the numbers at work but lost the tally (coffee break and shared computers... what can I say?)
I have always had problems with the layout of the board, I'll use it because it's "the" Buell board but it's still a pain. |

I am up with the KV needing a re-org. When I've gone there it is too hard to find what I'm looking for (just searched for "XB oil change" and got one useful link, more tuber stuff than XB, and not what I was looking for which was instructions as my manual is not here yet). I would use it much more if it was organized better or searchable easier. |
