I got the inside scoop that BFG Mfg. is developing the "Ultimate" exhaust system for XB model Buells. It has been thoroughly tested and has demonstrated peak power and torque gains of over 55 hp and 43 ft-lb, respectively, with an extremely flat power band. It features pure columbium (niobium for you euro fans) header pipes with a ceramic discilicide coating for superior heat retention and oxidation resistance. The muffler is made of an aerospace-quality titanium alloy that is super-light and super-strong. For XB12's, the muffler retains the use of the interactive valve. The sound is unbelievable!!! Imagine an ominous and thunderous rumble looming in the distance, followed by a massive all out roar in full surround sound at an IMAX theater. That is the BFG Ultimate exhaust for American Motorcycles. THE BEST PART IS... you can get it for less than $300!!! Forget about all the shootout crap!!! I'm holdin' out for the BFG!!! |

why bother spending 300 on the bfg when you can pick up like 10-20 performance stickers...they are worth at least 5-10 hp a piece. |

I kid you not... and, you can still jack the bike up with the muffler in place. |

I wonder why Erik didn't just order one of these exhaust instead of spending thousands of dollars to get the XBRR to 150 hp? Some people... |

But just think about it Dana... All you have to do is buy a new slip-on pipe and you too can hang with the super-duper I-4s in the straights. This IS the holy grail of aftermarket exhaust systems and what every newbie to this site is looking for. I only wish this information would have been available when I starting my quest for the "ultimate" exhaust system. I could have been so much more than the fellow chumps who, like I, chose one of the shootout fodder... |

How the hell do you get that big of a power increase from just a pipe?? You sure there wasn't some fine print about needing certain engine modifications to reach full potential? Such as boring, porting, bigger throttle bodies? I'll be the first to tell ya I don't know Jack about engines but a 55 hp increase from just an exhaust system sounds like a fairy tale. I would absolutely love to be proven wrong here. I'd gladly eat my words for such gains but I'm not going to hold my breath. Is this July 24th (pacific time) or is it April 1st? |

The BFG exhaust IS real. It looks like a gatling gun and rotates as exhaust goes through it. As for it coming to a Buell near you... I doubt it. And as for 55 hp... PUT THE CRACK PIPE DOWN AND BACK AWAY DUDE. |

c'mon Nasty, don't be so cynical. this is the answer to 90% of the threads here at BWB... the best exhaust, hands down! I hear it even works well with the stock ECM!!! (Message edited by buckinfuell on July 25, 2006) |

maybe he miss read and meant .55hp gain or maybe 5.5 hp. 55hp gain I fear is snake oil. I have seen the muffler (not the one for a buell) and it does look neat. |

I would rather have another useless thread about whose exhaust is best than have this useless post exist to contain your drivel. |

Alright bud! Give us some links, some sources where we too can get so 'excited' about this AMAZING exhaust! Those kind of gains you mention look like typos... Unheard of, however larger miracles have occured! But I don't think God has his hands in the Buell motorcycle aftermarket, well that is unless he has been listening to my prayers! ha! |

Um... 55 hp? Isn't that, like, a 50% gain, roughly? There's no way in HELL that's possible. I think I've seen this on a cruiser around town... it was a slip on all right. Just a tacky trinket you add to the rear that makes your exhaust look like a Gatling gun. No purpose other than cute. BTW, Googling "BFG", "ultimate", "motorcycle", and "exhaust" in any combination thereof leads to ZERO hits. The only BFG you'll find that mentions bikes is BF Goodrich tires. How much ya wanna bet ol' Buckinfuell's making this whole thing up? In the gaming world, BFG stands for "Big F'n Gun", and it so happens the exhaust looks like one? C'mon.... ~SM |

I had a guy tell me at the dealer the other day, that he got 115 hp at the rear wheel on his Road king just by adding new cams. Put on the BFG, and that thing would be ready for superbike competition. |

Buckinfuell IS a Rocket Scientist (look at his profile) So he has to be somewhat credible. I highly doubt it though... Only way to make tons of power is more fuel and more air, provided everything else is in working order and can handle the increase. I think everyone knows that. |

So, so, totally sweet! Since my bike is already pushing 100 HP and 83ft/lb, I can now get 155 HP and 125 ft/lb for just a $300 exhaust. Yipee! Forget the stupid XBRR - gimmee the... BigFatGullible Exhaust... |

I guess I have to be the one to point out that he contradicted himself in his own descriptions of the exhaust. First he said it comes with headers and then later he says its a slip on. Not to bring up that he has no facts, only his mindless prattling about something he obviously misread somewhere else. Now to address the issue of his language. Al Lighton and American Sport Bike are some of the greatest resources available to all on BadWeb. Al has spent countless hours and resources to bring us the kind of information you can't find anywhere else. That exhaust shootout is the best report of its kind I've ever seen all in one place. And for some babbling fool to discount that effort across the board is just disrepectful in my view, reminiscent of 71sportster's wild antics. I'll not have words like "Forget about all the shootout crap!!!" or "fellow chumps who, like I, chose one of the shootout fodder" thrown around and sit idly by. Especially when this supposed exhaust hasn't even been built or tested or had its claimed vetted by reputable authorities on the matter. Now, you go on and get your BFG on your bike and you name the track or road and I'll smack your bike all over the countryside with my factory race can buddy. |
