Are you talking about this? Al at American Sport Bike sells them. He doesn't sell anything of poor quality, that much I know for a fact. |

Those look different than the ones American Sport Bike has. To me anyway. |

I have Al's integrated LED brake light and indicators. I get comments on it a lot. The one I like the most is "damn, your tail light hurts my eyes". I like knowing that it's bright. The turn signals are NOT so bright during daylight hours. You can see them, but they're not burning images into your retina like the brake light. I recommend it. |

Lol, I have it too Streetfighter, "but they're not burning images into your retina like the brake light. " That really represents how bright the brake light really is!! I love it |

Yeah it looks like they straight up ripped off the pics from the Clear Alternatives site. http://clearalternatives.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CA&Pr oduct_Code=CTL-0052-IT&Category_Code=Firebolt Cheaper on eBay though, free shipping too. Personally I am very impressed with the kit I bought from Al. I used the smoke lens from Clear Alternatives. Sam |

Beware the ebay cheapies. Al's may be more expensive, but he only sells parts he has tested, and the he believes in. He also backs what he sells if you do have trouble. He does what it takes to earn his reputation for customer service. I have never heard a bad word said in regards to Al. Ebay vendors however are often here today, gone tomorrow scam artists selling junk. The best deal is not always measured in dollars and cents. |

I have one of these, which is the same thing Pnwzor posted, These do NOT look the same to me at all: The American Sport Bike unit the other unit: The American Sport Bike item has a lot more lights in it. It also looks like a perfect fit where the other is far from a perfect fit. |

The bottom one looks like a homemade unit. the bread board is the universal type you can get at any electronics warehouse. Anybody else use the same stuff in a high school electronics class? I'd bet it doesn't stand up too well with the vibration the tail of a motorcycle sees. |

The quality of the LEDs and their field or view are second to NONE on the unit sold by American Sport Bike, PERIOD That second one, and most I have seen purchased from ebay, are complete crap! Yes, the integrated signals on the American Sport Bike setup do lack a LITTLE bit during the day in direct sunlight, but after dark are fine. The brake light assembly fits perfect, easily installed, and of the highest quality possible in such a small piece. These two pictures were taken, using a tripod so the point of view did not change, 20 minutes apart, in the same dark garage at 1130 at night, with the exact same exposure settings. Notice the LED tailight throws enough light to be able to see my wife standing next to the bike holding the brake lever, yet in the first you cannot see her. Original brake light
American Sport Bike LED Brake light
I will not fail to purchase this setup for any XB it will fit, ever!! The change and visibility is HUGE in terms of all out light output. It does NOT use standard LEDs, but rather automotive environment quality LEDs with FAR HIGHER lumen output then standard radio shack LEDs, there is no comparison AT ALL. Be wary, and be aware of ripoff sellers, unless you are just buying it to say you have an LED tailight at the bragging bike night get-together. My .02 Bruce |

I have the clear alternatives light on my XB12s. I bought it about two months ago. The unit looks more like the one offered by American Sport Bike as it has a board that is completely covered in LEDs and is very bright. The wiring is attached to a light bulb end and plugs directly into your stock light housing. The install took a little minor work as the clear light cover did not fit perfectly. Now, I just noticed last weekend that a couple of the LEDs are not working on the right side of the light. I'm going to try to contact Clear Alternatives to see if they will resolve this issue. I'll keep you posted. |

my friend has it on his 12s. the brake light is very bright, a huge visibility improvement over stock. in fact it so bright it makes the turn signals hard to see when braking. we put some thin cardboard between the brake portion and the outside and that helped a lot. |

Thanks for the input. I think I will get a clear alternatives one and see what it is like. If you look at the ones on the site there are a lot of leds on the board so it should be ok. Thanks. Norrie. |

I bought the same tail light from ebay that you are talking about. It is a clear alternative tail light. Comes in clear alternatives box and has install instructions. Very easy install, and great product. Super bright!!! |
